Niedermenninger Herrenberg Kabinett Trocken Riesling 2017

Nice and quite Apple-y. Acid is there, but not at all overwhelming. Quite balanced in general. Good full mouthfeel while still being light on its feet. — 19 days ago

AP 8 Alte Reben Krettnacher Euchariusberg Kabinett Riesling 2021

My first gisela. Electrifying, pure and very intense. Ultimate interplay of sweetness and acidity. This will morph into something special in the future. — 4 months ago

Krettnacher Euchariusberg Kabinett Riesling 2022

Like huffing gasoline fumes! Just wonderful. Dazzling earthy/mineral component that balances beautifully with the RS. 8% abv. So pale! — a month ago

PET NAT White Blend

Recommended at Flatiron Wines. Love their Riesling, New York, and pet nat selection as well as their staff. Really great spot overall. Always find interesting wines here.

Super zingy and refreshing and tart, green apples, but also leafy. Actually hard to explain, but it’s just good, and interesting.

"AP Nr 14" Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Spatlese 2019

"Slow Decanting" this young spatlese over a couple of weeks with the Vinloq System

DAY 1
👃Careens from the chilled bottle with limes and apples plus minerality & petrol
👅Sweetness leads. Fruit, florals and acidity follow. The minerality is there for the finish. The acidity is fresh and palate cleaning. Lip smacking, if you will

The remaining wine was Slow Decanted for 18 days in my refrigerator

DAY 18
This hasn't budged during the interim. Apple, peach, pear with lime on the finish. The standard hallmarks of Falkenstein are present with the extra midpalate density seen in so many 2019
German riesling. Classy. Fresh. Clean

This 2019 is just getting started. It is delicious in this youthful, energetic state. I cannot wait to see where this goes as it develops over time in the cellar.

Niedermenninger Herrenberg Spätlese Trocken Spätburgunder 2020

Woodsy, cassis, ferns, an alpine forest.

This some juice. Beautiful light oak imparted in the best possible way. Slight vanilla, tart cherries, blackberries, leafy, woodsy, just perfect for this transitory season.

This is fresh.

Niedermenninger Herrenberg Trocken Red Blend 2016

Interesting red (I believe 100% Pinot) from a producer I respect. Restrained, at 11.5% and with some slight stemmy notes. Nice cherry. Refreshing and invigorating on the finish. Enjoyed and a nice contrast with heavier more extracted wines. — 5 months ago
