Very close in quality to Schäfer- Fröhlich for half the price. From Lyle Fass. Pretty tannic for a Riesling. Lemons, sour mandarines, touch herbs tarragon? One of my favorites from this winery. I might stop by in May. For some reason i like this vintage. — 3 months ago
Delightfully tannic with notes of blackberry. Full, luscious body while still light and well-rounded. — 5 months ago
the perfect ides of what a fresh, tropical ans satiny natural wine should taste like. its easy drinking, playful and fun, yet you can also sense a deep complexity that went into the vinification process. Plus, the story and wine naming methods of Gut Oggau connects the drinker to the wine in such an interesting way.. love! — 22 days ago
Surprisingly effervescent! Funky on the nose with notes of overripe raspberries and whey-fermented currant. — a month ago
Incredible wine, having it at the vineyard makes it even more special. This wine grows in a high concentration volcanic/copper terroir. The nose is different than anything you’ve held and the flavors keep going and going. Drinking this 9year old brings strong flavors and enhances the minerals of the land around Gut Hermannsberg. If you can find a bottle enjoy!!! — 3 months ago
Gruner Veltliner and Welschriesling from 35-year old vines… I loved reading about these incredible wine makers too:

Outrageous stanky mineral nose right out of the gates. Gorgeous purity and a liquid mineral component. Jaw dropping. Some lemon peel and also a wild, feral element. Wow. super concentrated and tons of sweet and bitter lemon fruit and tons of juicy but stern minerals. Great acids and a long finish. Still needs to open but the purity, clarity and linearity are outstanding. Some citrus oil on the nose and sweet, concentrated citrus on the palate. So juicy. Brilliant stuff. — a month ago
Never fails to disappoint. — 4 months ago
Late release after prolonged barrel aging.
Waxy, evolved, round with uber ripe lemons & nice exotic note. Creamy & quite broad for Riesling. On the palate this starts creamy and then the racy, steely acidity bites in. Nice breadth & weight. Yet balanced! Not too long though.
Somehow - I’m not that impressed. — 7 months ago

This is actually the reserve which is aged in barrel longer. Stunning wine. Nose is super mineral and white cherries. Also iodine and white pepper. Some juicy peach and tangelo. Gorgeous. Palate is rich and energetic with outrageous complexity and elegance. Wow the sweet white cherries and apricots are decadent but this is linear and straight and so focused. Stunning. What a finish. These wines demand age. Will go to 9.7 and 9.8 with air. — 3 days ago
