Baranoff Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Delicious, very floral nose, slightly peppery and bold nose with a delicate palate with a balanced acidity and a burst of fruit. — 5 days ago

Domaine Michel Gros

Nuits Saint Georges Pinot Noir 2006

The aroma of farm was very prevalent, but so was the red fruit and mushrooms. Get some epoisse and you will be right as rain. — a month ago

Domaine Jean Gros

Richebourg Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1990

Taken to Merriman’s with 3 hour pre-decant. Nice deep tawny color. Murky with an exotic nose. Notes of candied cherries, Asian spice, slate stone, dark moist earth, some menthol and some ripe rhubarb. Silky in the mouth. Fruit and structure evenly matched. Really good wine. — a month ago

Château Gros Moulin

Per Vitem Ad Vitam Red Bordeaux Blend

2016 vintage. 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Malbec. Another strong effort from this excellent producer. Unusual blend for Bourg. A little understated initially, actually better the next day, so you might want to decant. Elegant and fresh with well-integrated high alcohol (14,5%). While not as impressive as the pure Malbec from this estate, it's a solid effort that will age well for at least 10 more years. — 5 days ago

Château Gros Moulin

Heritage 1757 Côtes de Bourg Malbec 2016

2016 vintage. 100% Malbec. Dark red with purplish rim. Intensely perfumed with violets, cedar wood, blackberries, tobacco, coffee and a hint of thyme. Layers of juicy black fruits with subtle spices, intense and fresh with well-integrated oak and nice length. A great example of how well Malbec can perform in Bourg. Great value too. — 6 days ago

Château Gros Moulin

Côtes de Bourg Malbec Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Black cherries, cedarwood, violets and spices. Good fruit concentration, balanced by bright acidity, well-integrated alcohol (14,5 abv.) and serious ripe tannin structure. This estate has enjoyed a very good reputation for a very long time and is going from strength to strength. Terrific value. Should age well for 15+ years, but very enjoyable now. — 9 days ago

Tasted a bottle of the 1970 (!), straight from the Château, no label, so I cannot post comment. It was absolutely amazing, full of life with complexity and length.

Domaine A.-F. Gros (Anne & Francois Gros)

Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir

Opened broad and fat but seemed to gain some acidity in the glass. Round red and dark fruit without much structure of complexity. Had much better Bourgogne in my time. Short. — 20 days ago
