Have we no wine? WSET 3 with Merit
Ripe yellow peach and apple notes, backed with mineral and herbal notes. Flawless production... if you don't like this producer's Vernaccia, you can probably pass on many Tuscan whites. — a year ago
Fantastic effort from a somewhat difficult vintage… bridges the style gap for most in our tasting crew (modern vs traditional). Needs 2+ hours of air or 4+ years in bottle, but everyone loved this one. 2nd bottle tasted from this vintage, both terrific. — 2 years ago
As others have mentioned, the Montefico is among the richer Barbaresco's from PdB. The 2017 can age longer than the '15s and '16s. Still tight... better after an hour, but hold if you can. Delicious! — 3 months ago
Brings back memories of San Sebastián, even though most of the pintxo bars never pour rosé txakoli. 11.5%… higher ABV than most pours. This 2022 has a positively stronger herbaceous note than what I remember from previous vintages. But, previous wines were always with food, so drinking this solo could make all the difference. Lightly effervescent, mineral driven, tomato leaf notes with wild early-pick berries. Perfect summer cheese tray wine. — a year ago
Always lovely and light, with just a hint of volcano. — 2 years ago
Sadness for the 2019 vintage, even given the cost-effective Costco pickup. Tart, tannic... muted berry notes, just not good. Skip this vintage. — 5 months ago
2018 is relatively ripe, with some odd stemmy notes. Uni-directional... could use some white in the blend. — 7 months ago
Typical Tavel color, softer muted strawberry nose. Palate had some familiar watermelon and rose hip notes, but overall lackluster flavor, and missing crucial acidity. Perhaps the ‘21 was past its prime, but I’ve had Tavel rosés handle 2 years from other producers. SPEC’s Dallas — a year ago
Everything you wished for in a great 2016 Barbaresco. Anise seed, dark cherry, and perhaps surprisingly, a smidge of savory hay. Overall, at 3.5 hours, this 2016 is finally opening up. Tasted 2016 Montefico in Dec-2022. — 2 years ago

Nice find at Costco at a great price. But, this 2019 is overly grippy and has slightly burnt notes that prevents me from buying again. The 2020 Kirkland Barolo is less expensive and tastes better (unlike the lackluster 2019 release). Aging is a possibility, but this one might not do better with time. Perhaps an off bottle? — 2 months ago
