The aromatics on this are powerful and complex. Florals, dark berries and savory components. This is generous and rewarding in youth. A beautiful example of savory/briny character accented by rich red fruit. Structured and textured. This shows great complexity, but also inviting freshness. Absolutely great. This was a good Cote-Rôtie for its price point. Meaty and smoky, with a nice nose. Decanted maybe 20 minutes before serving. Served with a reverse-seared whole picanha, accompanied with roasted tomatoes and seasoned Greek yogurt, tomato cucumber and red onion salad, and wild rice medley. Pale dress. Duel relationship between fresh acidic fruits (coing, green apple, white peach) and breeding bringing roundness and fat. (Oak, butter, hazelnut). The interstice connecting the two is occupied by vegetable notes (straw, white flowers, honeysuckle, beeswax). Typically as with the Chenins de Loire, saline acidity is high, counterbalancing the 14 degrees of alcohol here. Needs a décantation to give all its relief. Do not serve too cold, (10-12°). Gastronomic!

Robe pâle. Rapport duel entre fruits frais acides (Coing, pomme verte golden, pêche blanche) et élevage apportant rondeur et gras. (Chêne, beurre, noisette). L’interstice reliant les deux étant occupé par des notes végétales (paille, fleurs blanches, chèvrefeuille, cire d’abeille). Typiquement comme avec les Chenins de Loire, l’acidité saline est élevée contrebalançant ici les 14 degrés d’alcool. A besoin de prendre l’air pour donner tout son relief. Tonight I have opened the Langlois Crémant de Loire Brut Rosé Langlois-Château. This wine is made up of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Pinot Noir two grapes I just adore.

The nose has strawberry, raspberry, cherry, Necco Wafers candy, herbs and wet gravel.

On the palate is strawberry, raspberry, cherry, red currant and a nice crushed limestone minerality.

The wine has a beautiful pink-salmon color and is medium bodied with a pleasingly smooth creaminess mouthfeel and medium + acidity that moves seamlessly into a refreshingly long crisp finish. Welcome to the weekend, please be safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🍾🍾🍾🍾 — 6 years ago

Simple, light, but full of charm. Clear purple dress, beautiful shine. Nose typical of the cabernets-francs de Loire. Raspberry, geranium, violet, blackwood, green pepper (but not too much). The mouth is fresh and tense, with a beautiful mineral weft reminiscent of rifle stone, slate or chalk. Served at 15 degrees, it’s a nice treat.

Saumur simple, léger, mais plein de charme. Robe pourpre limpide, bel éclat. Nez typique des cabernets-francs de Loire. Framboise, géranium, violette, bois de ronce, poivron vert (mais pas trop). La bouche est fraîche et tendue, avec une belle trame minérale évoquant la pierre à fusil, ardoise ou craie. Servi à 15 degrés c’est une belle gourmandise. — 5 years ago
