Deep Garnet color. The nose is discreet at first glance but the mouth is beautiful in balance. Full-bodied mouth, silky. Lardy smoky notes, spicy black fruits, close to a Cornas. Nice bottle for its price.

Last wine (#5) of a long line of bottles with family, & which accompanied us with a raucous NBA playoff game. A ‘ big’ cab franc heavy on gorgeous juicy & crushed red fruits. Always a low tannin affair with a lovely fine grain texture. No bell pepper to be found. Larger glasses & air greatly help. — 2 years ago

Tuiled dress, expressive nose. Slightly oxidized, nuts. evolved character, mushrooms, strawberry and spice notes. Fine and airy mouth of a beautiful intensity. Advanced notes and declining freshness suggest that this wine is at the end of its peak. A beautiful jewel to drink now.
Robe tuilée, nez expressif. Légèrement oxydé, noix. caractère évolué, champignons, notes de fraise et d’épice. Bouche fine et aerienne d’une belle intensité. Rosé of the day bottle #5 Much better on the front end than on the back end. I mean finish. But you know what we mean. Beautiful bottle. May buy another just for the label to sit on my shelf. Higher alcohol content so you do have that going for you. — 4 years ago
My final bottle of Little Wine #5 Aromas of dark plum, prune, mushroom, chocolate with a slight whiff of H2S which blew off. A lush and fluid mouthfeel of blackberry showing that gorgeous old vine fruit finishing with dry tannins. Pretty much unchanged from the previous two tastings. A great match with Lamb, golden syrup and Pistachio gourmet sausages. A blend of the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages. All were good in the Barossa. — 5 years ago

Dense purple/black in the glass - opaque. Not giving much on the nose initially following decanting. Needed vigorous swirling. Barossa plum, prune and earth. Very full bodied on the palate. Quite concentrated. A very big wine in comparison to many other Sami-Odi Cuvées I’ve had over the years. HH said It needs ages (“drinking window of 2018 to 2041 - over extracted?)” I tend to think the difficult vintage conditions in 2014 as explained by Fraser is the reason. Harvest was a full 2 months later than normal - harvesting the 2nd shooting of the vines during the first 2 weeks of April. Yielding only 274 dozen. This wine has a long cellaring future. An element of tannic astringency which is more a result of the size of the wine. This is the first of 3 bottles I purchased in 2016. It will be many years before I have the next one. — 3 years ago
