Pic #5. 2013 Bonny Doon Vineyards ‘Le Cigare Volant’ Central Coast with a Southern-Rhône style of blend from the Central Coast, California.
Deep ruby if not purple hue with juicy black fruit, creme de cassis, leather, earth mushrooms, and molasses notes. Paired with a bison ribeye, broccolini, scape, Australian black truffle, corn, and epazote. #bonnydoon #southernrhonestyle #grenacheblend — a month ago
A rich plush Barossa Shiraz. Full bodied plum and berry flavours. A lovely fluid supple palate, the product of old vine fruit. Looking through my notes I see I have had Little Wine #2 #3 #5 and #6 but somehow missed this #4 Multi vintage comprising 2012 at 17%; 2013 at 44% and 2014 at 39%. All good years in the Barossa although Fraser would say some were more difficult than others. Vine age ranges from the 1990s with the oldest planted prior to 1912. Rich and delicious. — a year ago
Moore Brothers 9/18/19 Italian Intro #5. Ruby color cherry tobacco nose with hints of prunes and Sherry. Interesting and complex and shows some age. Very lively supple texture and balance with acids and fruits and long finish. What an elegant and tasty Chianti. Made by Paolo — a month ago
Thanksgiving bottle #5. Enjoyed with pumpkin pie and spice cake dessert. Lots of lemon on the nose, and lemon poundcake on the entry of this with a creamy lemon creme brulee. The bubbles were soft and small, and went very well with the dessert course. This is a treat when ever you are able to enjoy a Champers of this caliber. — a year ago
Wine #5 - Tobacco, yummy tannins. Some vegetables (herbs?). Love. — 2 months ago
Wine #5 in the MSD Chambolle lineup tasted blind. Like many of these reds a closed nose showing some earthy perfume but the overall message is latent power. Sweet and savoury with Medium + intensity. Another GC from the 2015 vintage with a long future. — 9 months ago
