Fantastic stuff! Will dive in further to the Boxler name. Acidity and opulence are dueling for my attention. — 9 years ago

Ginger, coffee, cassis and mint swirl enticingly on the nose, and the wine opens with mint and black fruit, some apricot notes. At the mid palate poise and opulence seem to be dueling for precedence, but then the Mouton menthol, spices and nuttiness, and here some caramel and cassis, almost overtake the experience, and the nicely rounded tannins, and the seamless pervading core of fruit, the spice enlivened composure, lively if subtle acidity, along with truffles captivate on the simply bravura finish. — 10 years ago
Aldi advent calendar. Italian pilsner. Translucent with miniscule clouding. Off-white head with leaping penguin and dueling narwhale lacing. Allspice albeit lightly; tangerines and clementines. Sweet potato (baked), candied grapefruit and a hint of underripe pineapple. Clean, clean, clean beer! Hawaiian bread and brioche made a beer baby. Lemon and grapefruit bits clean it up. Refreshing and complex for a pilsner. Very enJOYable! Happy holidays all!

DRC Richebourg 1971, in jeroboam: fully mature, but incredibly still fresh and vibrant and concentrated, with serious complexity, highlighted by notes of soy sauce and dueling sensations of cedar and forest floor. This bright, medium-to-full bodied star didn’t fade over the 90 minutes of dinner, and its finish trailed off into a seeming eternity. A top 5 wine of my life. — 9 years ago
This review is NOT for the Old Vine labeling.
Looking for a wine to go with the Thanksgiving meal? This Gamay will work perfectly with the array of dueling dishes on the table. (Put a couple away in the cellar and take another look around '19. You'll think you're a genius.) — 10 years ago

A very pretty Syrah at its peak. Really nice nose of black peppercorns, crushed wet granite, cured meats like jerky or salami. Oh yeah, and a wee bit of dark berry fruit. Soft, ripe, and mouthfilling, with beautiful purity and a long, clingy finish with dueling fruit and granite. Delicious. Wish I had more. — 8 years ago

2022 vintage. Poured slightly cloudy and remained that way throughout. Intriguing. So so close to rating a 9.2 but wanted a bit more depth and complexity on the finish. Mouthfeel and body were the dueling superstars here. To be fair, super youthful and another year or two in the bottle wouldn't harm the likelihood of this improving substantially. 10.24.25. — 8 months ago
