Unexpectedly brown-amber lager with cappuccino-colored head, porcini-pored. Melting mustache lacing devolves to pointillist raven. Spicy nose of cinnamon and nutmeg, allspice, toffee and brown sugar. Elements of palate mirror the nose, including notes of dried lemon peel, cedar and sweet tobacco. Regal.

State of Brewing hazy IPA.
Rose-colored gold, opaque; melting hexagonal beeswax comb lacing turns levitating knives, woodcut claws and feathers. Orange, tangerine and apricot richness with tropical pineapple and banana leaf. Lime and lemon pith, lemon-lime bottlecap candy, Alka-seltzer, strangely, plantain, and truncated grapefruit. Perhaps lacks the creaminess of the hazy style in an attempt to keep the abv reasonable?

State of Brewing chocolate peanut butter porter. Strong chocolate peanut butter nose has mocha coffee influence. Not my favorite style, but a nice offering that steers clear of over sweet. Bittersweet chocolate and heavy lean into the coffee bean. The result is straight forward as the style should be. Beer itself needs to be a strong element in these flavored offerings. This one shows that restraint.

Hazy, rosy amber with large spongy cotton head. Desert scrub lacing and fallen branches covered in snow that sticks like pasta. Dank-y mosaics inform carrot-muffin iced with pineapple grapefruit and tangerine in abundance. Hemp-y notes persist on the palate, awash in tangerine and pomelo, dried basil and black lime. Sessionably fortified for easy drinking, but not so creamy as one would expect with the mosaic addition. Very good job keeping the balance.

Rose gold-amber; full opacity. Loose, bone-colored head. Dissolving dinosaur lacing. Malty style with orange and orange blossom, lemon confit, lime zest and clementine. Citrusy hops with light dankity dank. Malty entry rapidly bursts with grapefruit, hempseed, flax, and lemon peel. Light peppercorn. Lemongrass and grape leaf.

Yellow amber with a bubbly white dissipating head, Rocky horror lips lacing. Lime-led and lemon finished clean freak nose has white bread subtleties. Damn delicious palate has a mild sweetness, but lager-clean and refreshing. Great style, great care and restraint here!

State of Brewing Dry Hopped IPA from Aldi calendar. Wisconsin.
Cloudy antique gold-amber with a ropey head; dinosaur fossil and stylized anatomical organ lacing. Big grapefruit green grape and cut lime bullnoses, bends around to lemon panna cotta and vanilla. Hard citrus palatal entry gets cross checked by broom straw and cyprus wood, leaving lemon cookie dough along mid-tongue, walled by lime pith. Acorn, walnut and underripe pineapple enrich the finish. This ipa is aggressive hoppily, but damn refreshing and endlessly informing in the post game.

Amber waves with egg white colored foam halo. Laced with paisley slippage hippo-crocodile submersions. Lovely clementine nose with candied lemon and grapefruit peels, green strawberries, bruised pineapple, and lime kefir. Lemon on the lips, then smoothie of lime and near-peach, grapefruit and kumquat, yellow mulberry, and lemon cream. Teally good session ipa here! Best of class!

Aldi advent beers. Ruby rose grapefruit juice color and hazy. Spittle white with bubbles to match. Firewood dropped by tentacles lacing. Ghost squid. Pronounced grapefruit nose is halved, sprinkled with sugar and topped with a maraschino cherry like grandma made for breakfast. Hedge apple blossom, magnolia too. Lemon bread. Pineapple essence. Tart and tasty palate features white and ruby grapefruit that steps off a ledge and plunges to pith and pear, orange peel and zested ginger. Tastes very natural.

Near opacity, golden gel color, shock silo of crystalline white dissipates to perfection evenly with a flattened Fuji moment. Marble vein persistence in its barnacled whale lacing. Black lime nose reveals balsa and lemon bread, yeast-lemon and lightest green olive and chamomile. Palate gives sour note that ‘apricots’, bursts with yeast and marigold, banana pepper, white peppercorn and grapefruit spirit. All while hitting the bullseye on Belgian White Ale style. Resonates with drying sourdough, and popped corn sans butter, Indian gum, and cotton seed notes.

State of Brewing Scottish ale. Aldi advent beer.
Auburn, red-brown amber. Cream colored head echoes creamy wash of lacing that breaks to chicken bone divination and ant-farm spelunking, and finally to Keith Haring tic-tacs until cobwebs. Malty notes poke through earthy hole of coffee, mocha, and shaved dark chocolate with clove and nutmeg and black mushroom. Coffee emerges strong and all malt lies buried, but it is cold brew, medium body and flatter through creaminess. Lingering arabica.

Aldi advent calendar. Italian pilsner. Translucent with miniscule clouding. Off-white head with leaping penguin and dueling narwhale lacing. Allspice albeit lightly; tangerines and clementines. Sweet potato (baked), candied grapefruit and a hint of underripe pineapple. Clean,clean,clean beer! Hawaiian bread and brioche made a beer baby. Lemon and grapefruit bits clean it up. Refreshing and complex for a pilsner. Very enJOYable! Happy holidays all!

State of Brewing. Aldi advent calendar. Rich rosé color, off-white to lightly pink head that drops to pointillist specters. Tree limb tips and antler lacing. Cherry nose is non-lozenge restraint worth noting. White cherry, nano-cranberry, raspberry subtleties. Sour note is not driver, instead plays well with very beer core. Cherry peeks out at entry and relatively dry finish. Another good beer from a slightly unexpected source.

Amber-tinged East Coast style IPA. Cotton puffs over king crab leg lacing. Lime, lemon and pine nose with round pudding skein. Flavors carry from nose into cream and pine mouthfeel with the addition of white pineapple, slight white pepper, prickly hoppiness, grapefruit and passion fruit finish. Ends with slightest Wrigly’s Juicy Fruit stick gum ‘fruit’.
