L'Aide Memoire Arbois Pupillin Pinot Noir 2016

This is not cheap for what it is but I have a soft spot for this producer as the trousseau was among my first experiences with the region years ago. Plus I just dig the label. It has the expected reduction and yeast at first but dissipates quickly, revealing fresh red cherries, berries and rhubarb, rose petal, iron and that ineffable Jura funk. Enjoyed immensely while preparing and devouring some rigatoni with pork sausage and mushrooms — a day ago

Château Philippe-le-Hardi

Montée Rouge Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

I’ll preface this with the fact that I don’t drink a lot of Pinot as I’m not a huge fan.

This was an awesome rec from the guys at Amathus! 30+ minute decant. Lovely red color with ever so slight brown edges. Nose contained oak, vanilla, and strawberries. Cherries, cream, maple syrup, and cinnamon on the palate. Definitely on the sweeter side. This was like drinking cheesecake with cherries and cinnamon on top. Reminded me of the Dimchurch Shiraz, except in Pinot form. Could have been a little deeper, but had a great finish! Paired lovely with a sausage stuffed chicken breast, small Cornish potatoes, and cinnamon covered pears. One of the best dinners I’ve cooked in a while too, so I’m sure that impacted the experience and rating :)

Best Pinot I’ve ever had!! Buying more!

Point Barre Arbois Pupillin Ploussard 2013

Lucky to try the trousseau and ploussard one after the other. Very different wines the the trousseau light on this feet and this one needing a bit of time in a carafe to show a mix of red berries and spice. Tons of funk than needed to blow off as well. — 6 days ago

Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1970

Also took seven hours for fruit to begin to show. Powerful. Notice the "RC" in place of a number. This is one bottle of a few cases of the Reserve Chateau bottles that mistakenly got released from this vintage. Typically these bottles are reserved for Chateau dinners and kept in their cellar there. — a day ago

Le Ginglet Arbois Pupillin Trousseau 2014

An awesome example of trousseau! Juicy wild berries, fresh in taste yet silky in texture with the tannins having nicely resolved. One of those bottles that you just keep turning back to for more! — 6 days ago

Grand cru vintage Champagne Blend

Grand cru - vintage - yum.

Smells of fresh corn biscuits with a lot of yeast.
Granny Smith - classic, tangerine acidity. Tight and lengthy bubbles.
Citrusy finish and lengthy.. happily lost in thought..
