Paul Berthelot

Eminence Brut 1er Cru Champagne Blend

Figured this would be a nice aperitif before Thanksgiving dinner and boy was I right. This was downright gluggable. White peach and lemon curd with a bit of brioche and a nice vein of minerals giving this all the life and lift a Champagne nerd can appreciate. I really dig this. — 11 days ago

Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Hmmm, this is the first time that I have been disappointed with a Paul Hobbs wine. I certainly had high expectations but clearly something went wrong with this bottle (hopefully it is a one off but I am skeptical). I have had this 6 pack owc in my cellar since it’s release. Well the wine had absolutely no depth or finish that I expect from it’s pedigree. I will wait a couple weeks and crack another.🤞 🤞 🤞 — 11 days ago

Super easy and light Pinot with tons of fruit. Great light wine. — 8 days ago

La Chapelle Hermitage Syrah 2009

Yes!! This is currently a big, bold, inky wine. But the elegance and femininity is lurking, waiting to show its silky nature in a few more years. Good thing to come for those that can hold this for 10-20+ years.... amazing. — 18 days ago

To Kalon is always such a treat.

Paul Buisse

Touraine Sauvignon

White peach, lemon rind, orange blossom on the nose. Steely minerality, tangerine, lime zest finishing with notes of golden apple on the palate. Medium bodied white with a touch of oily viscosity that lingers nicely. Lovely white for drinking alone or with a fish dish, salad, or brothy soup. — 11 days ago

Plan is to drink a bunch of Beaujolais for the holidays after a fun visit with @Todd Abrams at Elie Wine. This is number one. Lavender smoke and oh so good. 🤓 — 17 days ago

Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2015

Medium gold color. Massive butter and cream that makes me feel like the wine is missing something. A little acidity wouldn’t hurt. Serve on the colder side as far as I’m concerned. — 18 days ago

Bold, dry, balanced. Leather, oak, and tobacco on nose, black fruit and anise on palate. Nice. — 16 days ago

CrossBarn Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2018

It is light but potent enough to gather interest at approximately the rate of—wait I’d have to check my stocks to make a good analogy—but it has a slender body, gracefully bruised apples (bruise but make it art!) lemons and something of a hint at salinity that makes a friendly sip alone or with a munch. — 24 days ago
