Popped and poured into red Solo cups; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2016 “Les P’tits Bouts” pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining of the tears and signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of dark brambles, animale, purple flowers, black pepper, black olive brine, dried green herbs, a kiss of warm spices and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is the oldest example I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy from Mickeäl Bourg, thus far. If this bottle is any indication as to the age-ability of his wines, well then he is most certainly one of the heirs apparent to the continued greatness of Cornas. This was straight up awesome. It had the feral, rustic bit a that I want in but with an element of sophistication that brings immense pleasure. Tres bien! Drink now through 2041. — 4 days ago

Nose of lemon and some spice. This is discreet and fresh. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid drive, a good tension, a nice width and some weight on the sides,a good grip, almost a chalky mouthfeel. Vintage 1986 | Just married, buying a house, we had no money for Mouton, for sure. I was so happy to find this 1986 Dutch bottling, that was incredibly hard to taste young. At our copper wedding anniversary the cook used it to my surprise for a fine monkfish in red wine sauce, the wine to partner it. The magnums still had a lot of tannins then. This week we celebrated 40 y wedding, and when we came home I opened this Gros Moulin 86. Beautiful bright colour, nice smell with spicyness, laurel, supple taste. We have had Gros Moulin of many years, Côtes de Bourg can be underestimated. We enjoyed the bottle with the two of us - very satisfied - with some parmesan cheese. — 7 days ago
