This is designed for those that love strong, peppery, fruity and earthie touch. — 2 months ago
Took about 2 hours to open up. A touch oaky at first and too much body but became balanced after awhile. — 3 months ago
Tart blackberries and dusty sage, just a bit of violet, with an undercurrent of bitter cocoa. Low tannins, low acid, blackberries and herbs. Fresh and smooth. — a month ago
Blend of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and smoky cedar notes. On the palate flavors of fresh blackberry and black cherry with cacao, tobacco, licorice and smoky spice. Fine tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with fruit, cedar, smoke and earthy mineral character. Very nice, will age well but wait a few more years to really enjoy! — a month ago
This full bodied wine leans towards savory, but also gives red fruit, meaty flavors, stewed fruit, and dried herbs. This wine speaks to me in a Chateau Musar kind of way.
Yarra Yering is one of Australia’s most iconic wineries. The 2010 Dry Red Wine No 2 is a unique blend consisting mostly of estate-grown shiraz (95%), with small portions of viognier, marsanne and mataro. It is described as sort of an Australian riff on an old-school Cote-Rotie. I call this one delicious.

Medium ruby red , still quite youthful , wide garnet rim . After a 2 hour decant , very attractive on the nose , tobacco , spicy blackcurrant , cedar and a grafite, earthy touches, roasted coffee . On the palate , lovely spicy blackcurrant and blackberry , redcurrant notes , very nice refreshing acidity , powdery tannins that are quite present still. Very elegant and refined , lovely balance . Those cigar box , tobacco notes return on the long satisfying finish , along with an iron filling , earthy note . This benefitted definitely from the decant , and is at the beginning of its drinking window, though the tannins are still present, it will probably improve over the next 5-10 years and last at least a further 5-10 . Worth seeking out . — 18 hours ago
Let breath for 2 days. Still could have used a 3rd but we are impatient. Deep dank sensual purple fruited powerhouse. Wanted to sit with this wine for hours. Each sip revealed more of its complex bouquet. Tannins got the best of us and had to move back to white wine. Thx Cerasulo. — a month ago
Very fresh. Decant for 2 hours and serve cool.

Prev notes apply - absolutely delicious on so many levels. Totally worth tippling. I mean, c’mon, can you remember the last wine you had that was mad from goblet trained grapes?
