Jamaica allspice submerged in black cherry, black raisin, African violets, red roses, cooked poppyseed, grilled, wine marinated steak with rosemary garnish. The palate is silky with medium mouthfeel and stealthy tannic hooks are whisked away like burrs and prickles on a satin sock. Sweet Connecticut wrap of tobacco is assisted by a minute mocha and black peppercorn. This took a while to open, surprisingly, but well worth the wait!

From the lower part of the Lazzarito, a traditionally-produced Barolo from an under-the-radar winemaker. The ‘14 could appreciate 5-10 more years in bottle, but I’m impatient. Big leather and anise, with some herbal notes.... almost a “meaty” wine, but the florals come to dominate after some air. Should be perfect with your rich N. Italia foods. Looking forward to visiting this winery on our next Piemonte trip. — 5 years ago
Italia in a bottle! Perfect!! — 6 years ago
Great mouthfeel. It’s a big red but has a lightness to it with great tannins. Dark red fruit. Very nice. Needs some time in the bottle. — 7 years ago
Viva italia! I’m obsessed with this / need to find it in NYC. — 9 years ago

Lovely wine We bought this wine in Bellagio, Lake Cuomo. Brought back all the spectacular memories we shared throughout Italia! — 2 years ago
Jermann ‘Blau & Blau’ Rosso 2012: Medium-bodied. Impeccable balance. Nicely integrated tannins with the right level of acidity. The color was bright ruby red and the aromas were red fruit dominate. Tasting notes of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, herbs, earth, oak & smoke. Dry elegant finish. What an outstanding, unique Northern Italian blend of Blaufränkisch (Franconia in Italy or Lemberger in Germany) & Blauburgunder (Pinot Nero in Italy or Pinot Noir in France). Bought this several years ago at an enoteca in Bellaria, Italia due to the attractive pink label and tonight was the night it would be set free & consumed. Long story short, loved every drop; it was funky. It was fun. It was memorable. Highly recommend. Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
Fruitiness favoring apricots and peaches with a hint of mineral to keep it interesting. The first scent immediately took me back to sitting outside in a piazza in Italia. This wine would taste even better with a good view. — 5 years ago
Sangiovese can vary widely. This is a perfect marriage of smooth, sweet, and dry, and easy to take. I love Poggio Anima and this is just another star in their line 😍 #poggioanima #sangiovese #italia 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 #tivogliobene — 8 years ago
A full bodied, high tannin, dry wine without as much of a bite as others in this category. Notes of cherry blackberry and raisin are well balanced and gentle with regard to aftertaste. This is a versatile table wine with regard to pairings. — a year ago
It didn’t have a strong aroma. But it’s fizzy and good. It didn’t have complex tastes in my opinion, but it was yummy. I like it — 5 years ago
E’ il uno di nostro favarito da italia. Crisp e acido abbastanza, mezzo corpo. Ha unpo il gusto amaro di finire. L’abbiamo bevuto con sashimi del tonno e fluke. Molto buono. Da sconto in astor wines. — 5 years ago

Purchased at the winery. Blackberry and raspberry jam, with pepper and cedar. Excellent Zinfandel. — 7 years ago
Shake n bake. Steak and brunello, does I️t get better. I️ love this producer and this wine is in a sweet spot. No tannins, soft fruit with that hint of leather. When you drink I️t it’s a mouthful. Not jammy like cab but hits every part of the palate and almost evaporates Awesome viva Italia! — 9 years ago

I may have rated this in the past but it’s been so long. A great find from Aldi with a great price! red garnet in color, slightly tannic with dark fruit on the palate. I love it — 4 months ago
