It is very typical of a #supertuscan wine = deep ruby color, medium(+) aromas and flavours of black cherry, red and black plum and hints of cassis and mint with toasty undertones. The tannins need a little polishing. I believe it needs to age. — 6 months ago
#overrated tasted it blind with 3 other #supertuscan wines ranging from 40€, 75€ and these and #ornellaia (the best). all the other 3 were better. This was light intensity aromas on the nose, it really the least aromatic and then on the palate it was acidic just a little disjointed and unbalanced. — 6 months ago
1994 Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore

Off vintage. A difficult year. Lighter in color than expected. The red fruits were very much alive but on a very delicate structure. Still enjoyable but wanted more from
Ornellaia. (Edited: On the second day, Ornellaia delivered! Wow. It is still delicate but in a perfect harmony.)

A tad acid, a tad bitter and a tad Brett. #bolgheri #bolgheritrip #italy #supertuscan #sangiovese — 6 months ago
A little too much on the ripe side of things. Much better on the palate than on the nose. Still excellent for the price. #supertuscan #cabernetsauvignon #italy #bolgheri — 6 months ago
perfume of dark berries, fig, baking spices & tobacco ~ the dark berry flavors lean a touch jammy but are in check by a quick pop of crunchy red fruit, some Asian spices, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs ~ plush mouthfeel w soft dry finish ~ lovely #SuperTuscan to follow next 15 yrs! — 6 months ago
Brutal. The best #supertuscan I’ve had. Amazing. #ornellaia #bolgheri #italy — 6 months ago

Delightful #supertuscan #toscanaigt blend with heady dark fruit + a delicate touch of toasted oak and vanilla on the nose. Palate balances rich fruit with acidity and distinctive earthy-spice notes from Sangiovese. Tannins are elegant. Matched up nicely with grilled beef burgers. Excellent QPR for ~$11. — a month ago
