Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with notes of dried herbs, citrus and woody spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cranberry and cherry with espresso, vanilla and herb tea spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine soft tannins on a long finish ending with cacao, spices and slight earthy character. Very nice! — 2 years ago
The wine has evolved nicely over the last few years resulting in a beautifully balanced and complex Sonoma Pinot. Rose petals, lavender and eucalyptus notes on the nose. Cranberry and sour cherries dominate the palate. Finishes with a little spice. While it is drinking well now it should continue to evolve over time. — 5 years ago
Delicious cherry rose petals. — 5 years ago
Another new varietal. Good lean acidic balance as food wine — 6 months ago
Pleasantly refreshing given the sugarload which I like to think people say about me when I’m overly excited about something. Still there is something white rose-y, persimmon-adjacent, and honeycomb funky going on. Very linear despite all its complexity like a well-made apple pie—down to earth but there’s more there than the sum of its parts. — 5 years ago
Pale lemon/gold color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits, floral and slight oxidative notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apple, apricot and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with fruit and oxidative mineral character. — 5 months ago
One more time a month after. Prior notes apply.
3rd wine of my family-organised blind tasting for my 40th birthday (tomorrow). I happened to buy this wine a few weeks ago after it had been bought by my wife and daughter for the purpose of this tasting and I saw some smiles and question marks on their faces while buying this which I didn't understand on the spot.. now I get it. I called this a saint joseph... close enough. Well, not according to my daughter who said I failed badly... have kids they say... — 2 years ago
Waxy and slight funk. Baked apples and pears. Fuller bodied chenin. Very well made. — 3 years ago
Stunning- secondary flavors developing remarkably early. Not over the hill, just delicious now. — 4 years ago
Blackouts are not “rolling” in Dallas. Power is just out forever. Opened this to make the evening a little better. I have power now, but I know it won’t last long. This wine is helping. A little funk on the nose. Herbal notes with a hint of spice on the finish. Don’t hold these for much longer. — 5 years ago

Opened just prior to dinner. The 2008 Coteau de Vernon pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of peach cup with the pears and cherry too. There’s white flowers, honey, fresh mint and other herbs too. Wow! On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and oily. This bottle came across young. A benchmark Condrieu. Drink now through 2038. — 3 months ago
