Gimonnet Chardonnay is always a joy and always just right. The Gastronome is much like the rest of their stable: deft and delicious. The nose is very fresh with a blast of citrus aromas and some light floral notes. There’s a little mint and a bit of honey. Very pretty.
Pure Chardonnay from six villages in the Côte des Blancs, primarily from Cuis. Very open and inviting, this is an old friend of a champagne. One where you walk into the house and know exactly where everything is at. But that doesn’t dampen the vitality and liveliness of the wine. Zippy acidity and well structured.
Fuller bodied than expected but still as a lithe as a dancer. Chalk and moist limestone with dried herbs on the tongue. The finish is long and resplendent with a little white pepper. Outstanding stuff. — 10 months ago
Very dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, strawberry and toasted oak. On the palate, it mirrors the nose with the fruit, oak and some vanilla to round it out. Medium to fuller body and well balanced. Smooth tannins and a medium to shorter finish. A nice easy drinking wine at this price point of $25 at total wine. — 3 years ago
Classic stuff, probably been brewing this same recipe for centuries. Smells & tastes like it would be heavy, but it goes down easy and is surprisingly light on its feet. Lightly malty, no frills old school Ale — 3 months ago
Chateau de Manissy, Tavel rose, Cuvee des Lys. Salmon rose coloration. Very pretty color. On the nose, red berry, cherry and florals. On the palate, red berries, strawberries, minerals, florals, nice fuller body and full mouthfeel. — a year ago
A little fuller than I would expect from this grape bit still tasty and enjoyable! — 3 years ago
Brown and ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, earth and minerals. On the palate, cherry, oak, vanilla, raspberry and medium to fuller body. Tannins are strong but balanced nicely. Medium to longer finish. — 6 months ago
2020 Christmas gift from neighbors. Rick and I both like it a lot. Fuller than most pinot noirs (good thing) but lighter than most cabs...closer to a blend. — 3 years ago

2004 vintage. Decanted and tasted after an hour. This was fuller and more complex than any of the other < 2010 Marcassin (Marcassin Vyd) Pinots I’ve had lately. Big, staying power. 3.5.24. — 2 months ago
