D:11/20 superlative bubbles, held their own through the full meal. Richer and rounder than prior initial bottling, almost felt glimpses of Substance.. — 2 months ago
Paler colour than the 76 , medium old gold colour . Quite a lot of bubbles still. This shows much more linear and mineral , quite chalky on the nose and palate but has enough fresh lemon tinged fruits to cover the bones . This is fresher and younger on the palate than the 76 . Long more focused on the finish, higher acidity . This is perfect now and over the next 5-10 years I would imagine . Very much alive and vivid for a Champagne of this age. — 3 months ago

Orange in color, very pretty and unique.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and medium sized bubbles.
Dry on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing green apples, light grapefruits, yeast, light raspberries, citrus, limes, light earth, minerals and herbs.
This 16 year old is showing nice complexity at this point, and will continue to age nicely the next 10 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.
Dom Perignon is not my favorite Champagne, but this one is really delicious. I got to call it when I see it.
Wine Spectator 97 points. Robert Parker 97 points.
Elegant and robust. I just love this vintage for Dom Perignon.
A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
12.5% alcohol by volume.

Popped and poured to celebrate a pretty cool personal and professional achievement; enjoyed over a two hour period. This particular bottle has been stored in my cellar since release. The 2004 “La Grande Dame” pours a brilliant yellow color with medium+ viscosity and a persistent mousse of fine bubbles. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of golden raspberry, Meyer lemon, some apple, some brioche and nuts; just a touch oxidative. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. However, I feel compelled to share that this gave me the overall impression of a sort of liquid lemon-raspberry custard croissant with shaved almonds on top. It was awesome. The finish was long and there is some palpable density in this wine. So much so that I think these easily have another 10-15 years in them. That being said, this was yummy and I wouldn’t hesitate to enjoy now. — 14 days ago
