Argile Rouge Gamay Persan 2019

Ted
9.4

When I first opened this I thought it was a bit thin. This sucker has woken up and it is amazing. I would chill this a bit next time but damn it is so good. Even has a bit or earthiness to go along with the cranberry fruit. — a day ago

Reserve Series Vin de France 2020

Yeah I know Peeps a wine from Walmart. I did read a review that this one was pretty decent; allowed a bottle to follow..along with the kitty food! 🐈 I am humbled to report..this is good! Nice medium bodied, melon, tangerine, strawberry, lime and minerals. Bottle does not indicate but does remind me of a Provence Rosé. @Sharon B you would like this! Nice with a few years on this Not Tempier..under $10!
My son in Indy sent a pic of his gas purchase...I want to send him a sympathy card! 🙄

@Dawn E. I’ll have to look for it if you’re recommending it! Gas is ridiculous! 😡

@Dawn E. If you can save some money 💰, why not? Sounds like a good wine. 🍷 Agreed the fuel cost is astronomical!

Patience Vin de France Gamay

Amazing low intervention Gamay. Crazy complexity of spice notes, slate earthiness, and mellow sweet cream finish. Nose has more spice notes. Super cool. Let it decant. — 5 days ago

Jérome Coessens

Largillier Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne Pinot Noir 2015

Talk about a singular expression of Pinot Noir. A pale gold coloring with effusive creaminess and a nice stream of very small bubbles. The aromas are a bit muted upon opening with just a bit of apple goodness to start the show. But let it sit for a while in a larger bowl and you’ll be rewarded. Warm cinnamon and crusty bread. Roasted nuts and blackberries all day long. There’s some fresh cherry and plenty salinity to boot.

Single vintage, single varietal, single vineyard. The hallmark of Jerome Coessens. 100% Pinot Noir from the lieu-dit of Largillier. The fruit hails from the plots that he has dubbed Fruit and Flower and that’s amazingly accurate. The amount of yellow fruit and floral notes are just ethereal in nature. The acidity borders on “racy” but instead settles on “zippy” which is just fine.

The attack is one that is quite pointed and full of finesse. It’s a very generous champagne that grows by leaps and bounds over time in the glass. An abundance of red and yellow fruits along with black pepper and dried herbs. Very fruity on the long finish with an added kick of spice. Singular and gorgeous.

Pommery

Brut Royal Champagne Blend

Equal blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunière. Bright yellow color with hints of green. Bright aromas of lemon, white flowers, freshly baked white bread and red berries. Elegant pallet is full of lemon and red berry flavors. Hint of minerality on the finish. Not overly “bready,” so it is quite refreshing and a good stand alone bubbly. Fresh and clean with great balance. I drank this one from a Pouron. Thank you Kasey and Petey! — 5 days ago

Cuvée XIX Brut Champagne

For the fruit lovers, the yeasty boys, the acid freaks.

An even split of apple cores, mealy pear, luscious cherries, crusty sourdough, lemon and spice. Personality and complexity and layers to dissect - in the aromas, elegantly expressive. In the palette, powerful, concentrated, long.

Something for everyone.

Les Pères Chartreux (L. Garnier)

Chartreuse Jaune V.E.P. 1605

Really fun. Very hot on the nose, not as abrasive on the palate. An amazing herbal exhibition. Juniper, anise(slight), menthol and any other aromatic dried herb/flower you could imagine. Great digestif. — 18 days ago

Les Pierrières Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne Chardonnay 2014

The coveted 2018 disgorgement! 48 month sur lattes Les Pierrieres is a total stunner. Raring to go right out of the bottle, it’s simply just a complete Champagne. It displays a stunning crystalline purity and a seamless combination of richness and elegance. It’s layered with white flowers, fresh brioche, lemon candy and signature chalky minerals with fantastic persistence, cut and texture. A little age goes such a long way with these wines. Terrific. — 4 days ago

Cuvee Cassaneas Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2018

A very interesting inadvertent experiment. I left this in a styrofoam case in my garage. It was there for almost 2 months. The garage hits 90 during the day.

Any rate the wine tastes like the wine.

Go styrofoam !!!!!

Nose is ocean breeze. Lemon flower.

Palate is mineral. Hint of gods lemon soda.

Bought from fass selections.

Jean-Paul Schmitt

Rittersberg Zen Alsace White Blend

Vintage 2018 | Jean Paul Schmitt is a winegrower that makes wines of character in Scherwiller. Biodynamic. All of one plot, the Rittersberg with granite terroir. This cuvée ZEN appeals to me. It is a ‘gemischter satz’ (blend) of five winegrapes. Friendly, flint, good body, citrus and good acidity. Fine effort. — 4 days ago
