Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2018

Wednesday night is good for CDP. My first go with this producer. It's very good! Nice balance of fruit, smoke, and those awesome Rhone river pebbles.

Armstrong Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Nice wine...too bad I only purchased one bottle. Close out so nice price as there won’t be any more St. Clement from Treasury group. Too bad the system won’t allow you to insert location. I’m home after a nearly two month trek. — 7 years ago

Château Musar

Bekaa Valley Red Blend 1999

Oh Chateau Musar how I love thee! This bottle has been open for two days and it still is bursting with all the flavors you remember and a few more! 1999 was the year that Lance Armstrong won his first Tour de France and SpongeBob made his debut. Predictably SpongeBob and this wine are still going strong! — 8 years ago

Absolute Rockstar! Thank you David for sharing this gorgeous beauty with us. Christine & I uncorked this beauty in celebration our our 15 year anniversary! I love the story behind the wine as well. Thank you for sharing! I owe you one bud!
Lush, extremely balanced, well rounded, opulent dark blue fruit. With a finish that Lance Armstrong would be proud of!! It just kept going and going and going!!
thanks again DAVID 🎤!!!!

The tartness was a little extreme. It would have been better with food I’d imagine. Drinkable for sure. — a year ago

"Cinq" Armstrong Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

A balance of fruit and non-fruit aromas... black cherries, subtle nutmeg, slate.
Light but rich on the palate with the same fruit and spice flavors as aromas, some soft but present acidity hits the tip of the tongue, and soft but present tannins linger. Complex and delicious.

Pétillant Naturel Hawkeye Ranch Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir 2016

Dang gurl.. why dontchya come on over here a little closer? This is delish stuff. Single vineyard Pet-Nat rose from Mendocino. Made by a passionate winemaker named Faith Armstrong Foster and you can see the passion in the bottle. Cloudy appearance due to the pet-nat style, beautiful salmon colour. Took a few minutes for her to come out of her shell, but then she started singing - beautiful aromas of pink flowers, marmalade, orange blossom, and wild strawberries. The palate is wild and vibrant, with some apple and cinnamon, tangerine, cranberry.. a tart finish with a fabulous fizzante. Just a lovely bottle of bubbly made naturally. Friggin great juice. — 8 years ago

Copp Inn Ranch Malvasia Bianca 2015

Winemaker Faith Armstrong calls this wine “Tahiti in a glass,” and it really is much like a liquid vacation. It's a pale, straw-gold color with a nose full of flowers, citrus and wet stones. It's not terribly acidic at first, but the freshness really comes on as the wine lingers in the mouth. It feels lean and clean on the palate, and leaves a green apple flavor on the finish. Not strictly a sipper, this wine can handle salads, fish and chicken. — 9 years ago

Classic Riesling 2015

I’ve kept this in our collection just chilling for 6 years. And ya know what…it was worth the wait. This isn’t anything special really but the time has brought out those “aged Riesling” qualities that I was hoping for. For $19 at bqe…it’s a good deal if you have the space to stash a bottle properly for more than just a few years. Nose: stretch Armstrong, GI Joe right out of the box, the McDonalds happy meal toy right after you rip open the plastic wrap. But also some sweet ripe citrus. Body/structure/palette: medium body, ripe peachy stone fruit boldness, that petrol is fuckin there but it’s not overwhelming. There’s some peach dum dums happening. Lingering mouth feel. Finish is pretty long with a hint of sour bitterness and candied yellow fruits. I need to do this with more Alsace Riesling and let it sit for 6+ years!! — a year ago

Armstrong Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Popped and poured; consumed over the course of an hour. No formal notes. A pretty wine that, to my taste, comes across fairly primary at this stage so I would hold until 2025 and try again. Well-made and has a touch of “je ne sais quoi” that gives it some distinction. — 3 years ago

David's Folly because the winemaker and his friends call each other David. His name is Tim. His friends have other names. Odd.

Cab and CF. Lovely rounded and high toned. Challenging being at a custom crush. Exciting future especially when they get their own space.

Alsace Riesling 2014

Louis Armstrong and the Dukes of Dixieland are swingin’ it like there’s no tomorrow. And 3 years in the cellar made this grand cru riesling from Biecher perform amazingly. Thick clear golden wine; deep minerals and apples, perfumes, mouthwatering acids and a long violet-grapefruity finish. — 8 years ago
