Riper, fatter and seems more evolved than the more linear and precise 1988, but like that other bottle, dry Alsatian Grand Cru Riesling with great complexity and length, floral, mineral, white stonefruits, different but equally lovely, last bottle, also purchased on release, these are amazing wines!! — 2 months ago

Jealous! Love this producer. Just got back from Alsace. An ‘88 is on my bucket list since it’s a birth year.

@Shay A, one thing I really appreciated was that both Z-H wines had been made DRY — I recall a period (late 1990s/early 2000s) where a lot of Alsatian producers were being criticized by consumers who didn’t know whether the wines were dry, semi-sweet, sweeter, etc., which IIRC led to many Alsatian producers using that 1-5 (??) “scale” on the bottle to indicate sweetness levels. These two bottles were obviously made dry, which I appreciated!!
