Delectable - this is the Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir. Couldn’t see it in your options. Notes of red cherry with bunchy stalky notes. Root vegetables with fresh tilled loam. Still a lovely red fruited sweetness shining through the savoury bunchy notes on the palate. Of all of the Individual Paddock Pinots from Giant Steps, Applejack Vineyard is my favourite. — 20 days ago
Nice easy drinking chardonnay, not overly oaked. Fresher style. — 2 years ago
Aromas of earth, stalks and mushroom with dark savoury cherries in the background. Whole bunch fermentation? More savoury than fruit driven. Quite Burgundian in many respects. In the restrained elegant style with good length. 6 weeks later took a bottle to an average Thai BYO on the Gold Coast served in cheap glasses. In such conditions the wine never shows well when the food is not up to scratch. — 4 years ago
Nose not giving much initially - just an earthy note - fairly contained. Probably opened a little young? The next night it showed red fruited aromatics of raspberry and strawberry. Very fine on the palate and quite delicious. The winemaker and owner Tom Carson with his French wife, Nadege, just won Viticulturalist of the year 2 days ago in the Halliday Wine Awards. They also import a range of Burgundies. In his “spare time “ Tom is also the winemaker at the highly regarded Yabby Lake. — 6 days ago
Complex, youthful on the lighter style. Would buy more. — 4 years ago
A wonderful new world Chardonnay - this is better than some Premier Crus I have had. A funky note to begin with, stone fruit and nuts (almond and cashew). Palate is perfectly balanced with nectarine and a creamy texture. Great intensity of flavour and excellent length. The first of 4. Next in a year. The next night just as impressive. — a day ago
A lovely perfume the initial impression. Bunchy notes amongst the rose petals and violet florals. Medium weight and also medium intensity - a good mouthfeel with that perfume carrying through. Tannins almost totally resolved at 8 years. A very good Yarra Valley Pinot - quite Burgundian in style - the perfume being the standout. — 2 years ago
