Very nice Riesling from the reliably delicious and interesting Peter Lauer. But honestly slightly disappointing relative to what I was hoping for. Doesn’t quite have the acid-driven precision and clarity as some of the other bottlings I’ve had from him. Still nice, obviously. — a month ago
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Peter Martin Ray Vineyard is stellar. This super-classic, old-school Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet is pure magic. Black cherry, cloves, licorice, scorched earth, incense tobacco and saddle leather infuse the 2018 with fabulous depth. Potent and virile, the Cabernet is going to need at least a few years to settle down. It’s a stunning wine in every way. Ceritas fans will surely be delighted to learn that the Cabernet offerings here will soon expand to include a number of new bottlings. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, June 2022)

2018 is nice four years later. Some good white apricot on the palate. As it opened up more stone fruits became apparent. Not too heavy on the petrol. Good acidity. Good match for the white people’s Asian food at Ramsey’s Lucky Cat on Grosvenor Square — a month ago
Lime zest, grapefruit, slate. Electric energy as usual — 14 days ago
Excellent especially for “just” being a village level bottling. Great acidity to balance out the residual sugar. One of my favorite producers for kabinett. — a month ago

Vintage 2018 | The wine is now so appealing, it is difficult to put it away in the cellar and not think about it, for say five years… minerals in the smell and a excellent balance with breathtaking sweet that is balanced by awesome acidity. This is a treat to taste now and in the coming fifteen, twenty years. — 25 days ago
