See previous notes - this wonderful old Semillon keeps getting better and better. Mid Lemon in colour. Aromas of Lanolin, beeswax, wet hay, lemongrass and toast. 0n the palate a soapy texture amongst the citrus and honey notes with refreshing bright acidity. Tastes much younger than 15 years and will probably still be giving pleasure on its 20th birthday but sadly for me this is my last bottle. Totally unoaked demonstrating how good Semillon puts on weight with age and doesn’t need oak unless you want to drink it young which misses the point as Murray Tyrell used to often say. A real treat to drink this wine - the following day the citrus was riper with notes of mandarin. Stunning. — 4 days ago
Oooh. Ooh. Not sure the vintage my local place had, but it was a good one. Need to snag a full bottle of this for Christmas or similar. — 8 days ago

@Delectable Wine this is the “Vignolo.” Thanks!
100% Syrah which is what this winery specializes in. Our first Sicilian estate and of course it’s Syrah. Lol. Wild, awesome and super Syrah nose. Violets, lavender, olives, ripe blackberries and even a hint of cassis. Lovely rocky minerality. Some nuttiness as well. Very complex and nose that suggests this has entered maturity. Palate is juicy and elegant. Suave and silky. Loads of berry fruit and a hint of nuttiness. Is this from low sulfur? Delicious and fresh. Not overly complex. As it airs the nose opens more to reveal tree bark, fresh meadow, kalamata olive and more palate becomes more refined and silky as well but the nuttiness takes a way a bit. Like this is 90% stable but 10% freaky. It’s an earlier vintage here since I started with the 18’s so this is more a curiosity that anything. It’s very good but there is a bit of a flaw here. It doesn’t take away much but it doesn’t add anything positive. 9.1 maybe 9.0. Finishes also a bit dirty. — 12 hours ago
Fragrant nose of acacia, citrus rind, green apple, hint of candy. Balanced palate with a pleasant viscose texture and juicy acidity with secondary notes of stone fruit. Medium+ finish. Great stuff — 4 hours ago
Really nicely balanced, so easy to drink. Some green apples and flowers. Chill a tiny bit — 4 days ago
Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has bright green apple, saline solution, distant petrol, under-ripe peach, sliced apricot, clover honey and wet flint
Palate has effervescent and tart apple juice, tart pear, under-ripe peach, green apple peel, wet limestone with solid acidity and a ever lingering sweet/salty/tart finish. A great bottle! — 25 days ago
