Dorine Le Mesnil Sur Oger Champagne Blend

I was more prepared for this today (by comparison to my last btl, where I was expecting a slightly richer version of the Quartz). Very rich nose: lime mousse, vanilla, stone, but still so charming. On the palate, fantastic acidity, lime, almond, hazelnut mousse, wet stone, but still very hi-toned. Such a lovely hi-toned finish...wish I had disg info. — 2 days ago

Maison Roy & Fils

Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2017

I hope everyone is well? Tonight I have opened the 2017 Maison Roy & Fils Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley Dundee Hills, Oregon made with organic grapes.

On the nose there is bing cherry, raspberry, clove, floral notes, a good funk, mint, wet leaves and forest floor.

On the palate there is bing cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, spice, vanilla, violet and forest floor.

This wine is medium bodied with medium to + acidity and medium to + fine tannins that seamlessly move into a long tart berry finish. Please everyone as we move into this weekend stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Vieilles Vignes Volnay Pinot Noir 2017

I miss the tastings with this semi-confinement we are still in and stole the idea of @Benoit Duhamel here, so we made one at home with my son and my wife who are both wine fanatics as I am too. We chose 6 red Burgundies Villages 2017, 3 Côtes de Beaune and 3 Côte de Nuits and we tasted these blind, each of us giving ranks and points for each wines. Tasting blind usually doesn’t lie and it can bring numerous surprises which it did in that case. All wines were fo a good level here, no bad wines and all were fun and good indiviually but the results were pretty clear cut in terms of the Côte de Beaune winning this battle.

1- Chassagne-Montrachet villages 2017 Jean-Claude Ramonet 32 pts
2- Volnay Vieilles Vignes 2017, Henri DeLaGrange 28 pts
3- Auxey-Duresses Très Vieilles Vignes 2017, Alain Gras 26 pts
4- Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles 2017, Bruno Clair 20 pts
5- Gevrey-Chambertin 2017, Lucien Boillot 12 pts
6- Gevrey-Chambertin 2017 Les Évocelles, Louis Boillot 8 pts

DelaGrange: spices and a touch animal too on the nose. Vivid acidity with a nice medium bodied structure, very balanced, good length and delicious finish. My number 3. 90-91

1- Chassagne-Montrachet villages 2017 Jean-Claude Ramonet 32 pts
2- Volnay Vieilles Vignes 2017, Henri DeLaGrange 28 pts
3- Auxey-Duresses Très Vieilles Vignes 2017, Alain Gras 26 pts
4- Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles 2017, Bruno Clair 20 pts
5- Gevrey-Chambertin 2017, Lucien Boillot 12 pts

Mon no 3 personnellement. 90-91

Moussé Fils

'Special Club' Les Fortes de Terres Brut 2015

🏅Rating 92+/100 (4,25⭐)

Cédric Moussé is the fourth generation of his family to make champagne at Moussé Fils. He is young, energetic and innovative.

In 2012, Mousse completed construction of a new winery in Cuisles, designed to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. It is state of the tech art.

In 2005, Moussé joined the Club Trésors de Champagne, and began making a Spécial Club champagne in that vintage. It's the first 100-percent meunier champagne in the history of the Club.

Single vineyard Meunier comes from 4 plots in lieu-dit “Les Fortes Terres”.

Pale pink gold colour. Crushed almonds, raspberry and strawberry with splash of milk (full malo). Reductive winemaking puts emphasis on the purity of the fruit! 1g/l dosage is enough to balance. Broad-shouldered on the palate. Dry long finish. Spent over 3 years sur lee and disg. 10/2019

Solar 2015 vintage speaks from the glass. Overall that was a warm year which started with a mild and humid winter, followed by quite a dry spring and summer. Harvest started on the 9th of September.

This is one of Champagne's finest examples of pure meunier!
