Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2007

9.3

After drinking a few of these in a short period of time I’m getting more of the sense of the “Montebello” house style. This one is more restrained and slightly more austere than the 2010. On the nose, tobacco, cassis and earl grey tea. In the mouth, grippy tannins, dark fruit, black tea, acid. Long finish. Like all MB, needs time, but totally accessible now. Yum. — 2 days ago

Nose displays lanolin, Meyer lemon and beeswax. Oily texture on the palate, intermixed with crème brûlée and hints of white pepper. Finishes with moderate sweetness and soft caressing acidity. Stunning effort - Fulton St by Jean Georges. — 4 hours ago

Great spot too.

East Ridge Pinot Noir 2013

I normally like the West Ridge and its more subtle notes over the East Ridge, but this bottle of East Ridge was just fantastic. It was so very deep and yet still energetic and full of soaring, bright clean red fruits, combined with a lovely long finish. My wife and I basically raced each other to the bottom of this bottle. — 6 days ago

L'Ecole No. 41

Alder Ridge Grenache Rose 2019

Pale yellow-pink, excellent clarity. White floral and strawberry notes in nose. Mellocreme candy, strawberry and slight tangerine peel flavors, good acidity, dryish. White pepper aftertaste with some skin astringency but attractively so. Good affordable drinking here — 13 days ago

Wapato Ridge Vienyard Pinot Noir 2013

Bam! What a wonderful Pinot by an amazing winemaker! The character of this limited offering is outstanding. Everything one wants in complexity, soil, fruit, and albeit sacred character is present in this wine. 2012. — 6 days ago

West Ridge Pinot Noir 2011

The 2011 West Ridge is on point right now for me. Still has bright red fruits, but is starting to show tertiary earth/mushroom notes, plus depth and complexity. — 21 days ago
