Chante-Perdrix Granit Saint-Joseph Marsanne Roussanne

Bought a couple of bottles of this for myself. Marsanne-Roussane blend from a biodynamic grower. Wright and body, and a richer fruit profile. Doesn’t have the oak of their Condrieu. — a month ago

Domaine des Perdrix

Echézeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Elegant silky wine with a lengthy finish for such a young grand crú. Skeptical of the recommendation initially, this somm has never let me down with a youthful Burgundy. — 2 months ago

Domaine de la Charbonnière

Cuvée Mourre des Perdrix Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2020

Nice CDP. Cherry, tobacco, sage, pepper. Lots of green plum … like right off the tree. Balanced even with 16% alcohol. — 2 months ago

Jean Vesselle

“Oeil de Perdrix” Champagne Blend

Historic style of making champagne, eye of the partridge is something between a Blanc de Noirs and Rose. Such an appetizing rose gold color. Pastry/biscuit, strawberries & cream & clementine on the nose, much more lithe, tense and bright on the palate.

Honestly it’s hard to come up with descriptors because it’s just a joy to drink.

Disgorged last year on Valentine’s Day.

I’m really digging the Vesselle wines these days and they are so reasonably priced for the quality.
