The 2021 Purple Rose is layered, bright and expressive, with soft contours wrapped around a core of brisk Sangiovese fruit. Pretty floral accents lift the finish. All the elements are so nicely balanced in this creamy, tasty Rosato from Castello di Ama. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2022) — a month ago

People who don’t like this wine are dumb. It’s a very very solid Chianti. Don’t know what else you want. — a day ago
To steal a line from Lyle Fass: Just wow.
70% Semillon / 30% Sauvignon Blanc
Late botrytis harvest.
The nose on this thing is deep and intense, though I have to say that the finest aromas dissipate quickly so don't let this one sit in the glass or the bottle after opening.
Layers of dessicated fruits, candied citrus peel and spices...so much spice.
And that texture! Imagine the finest silk sheets in the world in your mouth and you'll get close. What a treat.

First time for me with these guys
Label says Mischiabacche which means "mixing berries"; i assume there would be plenty of varieties, like a field blend
The wine is pleasant, it has pleanty of fruit and it drinks greatly. I am guessing this is an entry level wine which makes it very interesting
Quite long persistence
Producer to explore for sure from a very traditional wine terroir
Wine is made with grapes and nothing else
