Clos de Mez Fleurie Gamay 2016

La Dot! Oh how I love thee. Way way too young. But glorious! Nose is showing some reduction. Will blow off. Gorgeous ripe cherries. Smoke. Leather. Minerals. Floral. Really complex. Palate is so good. So refined and elegant with huge structure and sap. Such purity and depth. Salty almost on the very long finish. Great freshness and explosiveness. Great fruit density as well. Check back in 5 years. — a month ago

Morgon Gamay 2016

A magnum! A thin/light garnet , edges quite red. Nose of light fruit, maybe pear & strawberry. Medium body- fruits like pear and maybe white peach. On the dry side, low acidity, pretty good! — 10 days ago

Domaine Céline & Nicolas Hirsch

Chénas Gamay 2016

Interesting and drinkable. Strawberry and sweet cherry but nicely balanced. Slight zippiness from light effervescence. — 19 days ago

Cote De Brouilly Gamay 2016

Restorative. Needed this boost from this strong yet elegant one. Hope Lucas and Dom enjoyed the Russian leadership Matryoshka dolls since I had no toys. — 21 days ago

Lafarge amazing domaine between Burgundy and Beaujolais

Fleurie Gamay 2016

Floral because it’s Fleurie? Maybe not but I’ll never stop commenting on how much I love that Cru Beaujolais sounds like it tastes. Violets just throw themselves at you like a bridal bouquet (don’t know if violets are traditional to a bouquet but if I ever have one maybe they will be) and anyway even if you are a commitment-phobe like me you’re gonna catch this wine. There may be rose or so and some plums and then just this wine wants to flow through your veins with happiness and if happiness flowing through your veins is something a relationship could bring then I am at least giving this a second date. — a month ago
