I really like what Evening Land does in general and their Pinots in particular. Lovely nose with some good cherry. Balanced mouthfeel with good dark red fruit and some nice herby notes. Jumped back on the horse with an 08 when the 99 proved fake. This one was the real deal. Wasn’t the best Monfortino though. Decanted and let it open for several hours while the Super Bowl unfolded. Go Eagles!!! Layered and foreboding. It didn’t have the best balance with the fruit but it was nonetheless a weighty joy. — a year ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity on the nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Showing plums, red currants, cherries, earth, black coffee, light wood, spices, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates, black tea, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 5 year old Cincalt /Grenache blend is already drinking nicely. Complex and interesting. Spicy and soft.
Elegant and fruit forward with nice compliments of the earth notes.
Needs 3 hours in the decanter to open up properly, so be patient.
Easy drinking and elegant. Would be interesting to try it again in 5 years.
A blend of 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French Oak barrels for 6 months.

(Two previous 1983 vintage wine reviews never made it on here, so copying from CT).
My experiences with 1983s has been fairly positive, and this PL certainly is among the better I’ve had from the vintage. Holding color nicely with deep ruby and slight bricking around the rim. Started off a bit dense and muddled, but hit stride about 30mins later with a mix of red and black berry fruit, cassis, a streak of herbal green down the middle (something I always get with PL). Excellent example of the fruit showing lots of flavor without being overly ripe. Leather, sweet pipe tobacco, graphite, and still some vibrancy at the finish with tannin structure. Clean and elegant at this stage. Showed well over the course of two hours. Drink up and enjoy. — a year ago
Legit delicious and one of the best I’ve had in a while. Mellow and lush, great rounded acids and softened tannins. Good tar, cocoa powder, prunes, stewed mushroom, soil, dried roses and violets, touch of vanilla. Decanted 4 hours before opening. Probably from Flatiron Wines? First time trying this, and we were very impressed. Lots of orchard fruits on the nose, with a hint of baked apples. Very little perceptible wood treat on the nose or palate. It presents crisp on the palate with a nice bright acidity, but has volume and weight. Love the fruit and moderate sweetness. Less malo and nutty notes make this a big hit for us.

whoa! wild, totally unexpected nose. never smelled a chard like this. Menthol, eucalyptus, mint. Andes mint. high elevation, select rows from a single vineyard. Unlike any other chardonnay. Flipping beautiful. High acid, lemony citrus and mineral on palate. the mint is fascinating- almost overwhelming. decanting would prolly help. 10 just because it’s so interesting, so delicious. but it is not identifiable as Chardonnay. — a year ago

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (41%), Merlot (50%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Petit Verdot (2%), aged in French oak, 45% new, same ownership as Lynch-Bages. Deep Ruby red color with aromas of red and black fruits with smoky spice. On the palate flavors of black raspberry, currants and black cherry with licorice, toasty oak and tobacco. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and earthy tobacco spice. Starting to drink well now and will continue to develop! — a year ago
