Giant Steps

Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Herbal notes wth ripe red fruits. The palate reflects that ripe profile with savoury red and black cherry. Medium bodied - succulent texture. The 2020 vintage won the Victorian leg of the Australian Pinot Challenge and 98 points from James Halliday. Giant Steps Applejack PN is a regular purchase for me. — 5 days ago

Almost identical in profile to Giant Steps. Strawberries and cream on the palate. Smooth with just enough spice and acid to give interest. Not great p/q — a month ago

Dry Red N°1 Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

This took time to settle. More acidic and less round than previous bottles. Medium bodied. Fruit purity still present. — 10 days ago

Oakridge

Vineyard Series Henk Chardonnay 2017

Starting a new phase of development, showing some hints of nougat along with faint struck match, leading to green apple, lime and stone fruit. It’s softened since last tasting, almost an in between phase before the secondary richness develops further. — 23 days ago

Yarra Valley Syrah 2019

Had in Greenport. Whole bunch adds just enough earthy ness while still driving real elegance. Opens up into a little chocolate notes as well. — 18 days ago

Mount Mary

Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2016

Special and powerful aroma mixed oak and fruitiness, tropical. Sharp woody but rich. Citrus. Minerally. On the way to be matured. But specially complexity. Temperature raising, deeply tasty wine. 2016 @700/100ml(4800), Enoteca T, 211010 — 2 months ago
