Wow! This is one stylish Chardonnay! Had to pop one early...big, bold, intense flavors of ripe juicy lime/lemon with round sweet succulent pear. Weight and richness of barrel fermentation without any noticeable oak. The wine is round and pleasurable...long, smile-inducing finish. Can’t wait to see the development of this wine at 5,7, 10 year increments. Can’t shout this loud enough.. “You need to be buying lots of Willamette Chardonnay.” — 8 days ago
Located high atop the estate property located in the Dundee Hills, the 2017 ‘Cote Sud’ Chardonnay shows off lovely flinty aromatics that mingle with lemon zest, kumquat and green apple tones that all mingle together in the glass. The palate is plush, showing a seamless texture and a soft mouthfeel that melds marvelously with the bright minerality of the wine and deep core of citrus and orchard fruits. The length and generous finish of the wine truly accentuates the drinking enjoyment. Fantastic to savor now, this beautiful wine will have a long life ahead of it. Drink 2020-2033- 94 — 13 days ago
Raw oysters from Hog Island oysters shucked by me and Hog Island clam chowder recipe with a nice chardonnay...Staying home does not suck sometime!!!
Pop and pour. A lite golden color. On the nose: lemon, toasty oak, floral, tangerine. Taste: apple, lemon, lime zest, pear, grapefuit with a carmel mineral medium finish. A rich and full creamy taste.... good bright acidity helps mitigate the rich/full taste. — 9 days ago
The De Ponte Chardonnay opens with pear and nutmeg accents that combine with shades of salted Macadamia nut and brioche aromatics that take shape in the glass. The palate has great freshness and verve with juicy melon and Gala apple flavors that combine with the sourdough bread and greats sense of minerality. This is just an awesome effort by De Ponte. straw colored, pale watery rim; lemon, red apple skins, stone fruit, toast; wet stone, honey, clean, lively; medium body, good acidity, 13.5% ABV; made from 100% Chardonnay from famed Seven Springs Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills, gentle whole cluster press, indigenous fermentation in once used barrels 500L puncheons, élevage 12 months in the once used barrels and puncheons and then 6 months in stainless steel; a great example of what Oregon Chardonnay can be and a bargain compared to many California Chardonnays; $35 — 6 days ago
Wednesday Wine Committee from this past week. A fantastic hosting by @joe leatherwood . 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind as usual.
Gorgeous Chardonnay from one of my favorite producers. Fairly light colored in the glass offering up notes of honeysuckle, chamomile, and powdered sugar lemon bar. The palate sports a very elegant and soft profile with a bit of sweet cotton candy toward the back and finish. Delicate. I called this Oregon chardonnay. — 25 days ago
