Not as super acidic as the Fritz Haag, but still very strong acid balance to the sweetness. Liked a lot! — 4 years ago
Years ago used to treat myself to this maker once a year, but then my local store stopped bringing them in & I lost contact. Such a marvelous blend of concentration & finesse: Asian pear, ginger crystal, and white peach. Not a light bodied Kabinett, just gorgeous. Not a stand out vintage if I remember right but they are all pretty damn good. — 5 years ago
375 ml. Gorgeous nose of peach, apricot, lightly honeyed, very bright. On the palate it’s quite intense but so nicely balanced. Almost a little tannic thing in the finish which shows the intensity. I know we’re drinking it young but we’re with my dad and he’s 94, and loves Riesling, so we’re living in the present. And the present here is pretty nice. — a month ago

What a lovely, lovely wine. Classic J.J. Prum. A distinctly pretty light straw color in the glass with faint green tinges. The nose is oh so floriferous and charming. Honeysuckle and wildflowers with white peaches and yellow apples. After some time, there’s a bit of slate and honey. Light and breezy, this is so nice.
A crisp and lovely Mosel Riesling, it’s very much alive and inviting immediately. Refreshing and well balanced throughout. There is precision on the palate underscored by some nice minerality. The fruit is pronounced and remarkably crisp, led by bright citrus tones and light spice. Vibrant lemon zest and grapefruit is tremendous here. Prum delivers yet again.

Ripe peach and grapefruit with a hint of apricot. On the first night the sweetness dominated (we mainly drink dry Riesling). This was 8.5% ABV with plenty of residual sugar, but on the 2nd night not tasting as sweet. Purity verging on crystalline. Medium plus palate intensity. A class act typical of JJ PRUM. I’m not sure if I have chosen the right title here. There was nothing “Trocken” (Dry) about this Riesling. — a year ago
Honeyed citrus, lime zest, limestone. — 5 years ago
Mid lemon in colour. Aromatics of yellow peach and slate. Touch of smoke. Great palate intensity - not overly sweet for an Auslese - only 8% ABV. Jancis said “a floral explosion on the palate “ and I cannot disagree. I don’t drink a lot of sweet wine without dessert but this was most enjoyable - a great accompaniment to chicken liver pate with crackers. Acidity particularly at the first taste still very much present. — 2 months ago

Consistent favorite. Lime zest, crushed limestone. — 9 months ago
Petrol Power. No greater thrill when a good vintage transforms into this wild cornucopia of sweet n salt n petrol n mineral. — 3 years ago
I mean, can JJ Prum not make great Riesling? “Just” a mere Kabinetb, but fantastic vineyard and great acidity, long finish, lovely Kabinett!! — 4 years ago
🏅 Rating 89/100 (3,9⭐)
Off-dry Kabinett. Very floral, delicate. White flowers, honey. Stone fruit. On the palate has some citrus with light bitter finish. Petrol notes are very gentle and almost not traceable, just a hint. Gastronomic wine with only 8.0% Alc. and pleasant fruity sweetness, good for an easy apero or as an accompaniment for pan-asian / oriental food. Residual sugar is nicely balanced with signature Riesling acidity.
PITTERMÄNNCHEN is VDP.GROSSE LAGE classified South facing vineyard in Dorsheim, Nahe with clay slate soils. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation in big 1,200l barrels.

After the crappy Kiwi Chardonnay (Luta), we needed something of impeccable quality and breeding, so here we are. This incredible Spatlese from JJ Prum, other than the color, is just beginning to show its charms, this will last MANY MORE years, but such a privilege to drink such a phenomenal Mosel legend, mineral, sweet apricot and peach fruit, amazing acidity, great length, LOVE this stuff!! (P.S. — I have NO intention in getting involved in the Casagrande clan’s metal band debate, I’d rather just drink old JJ Prum Riesling!!) — 6 hours ago
