Inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, raisins, dried figs, alcohol, licorice, vanilla, cedar, cola, spices, milk chocolates, tobacco and peppercorn.
Full bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
On the palate black currants, cooked plums, sweet cherries, vanilla, spices, cedar, espresso, cola, light herbs, licorice, mocha and red chili pepper.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Shiraz from Australia. Big and bold, and somewhat sweet. Has a lot of acidity on the finish for all that fruit. Rich and extracted.
Very much "in your face" kind of wine, and not for the faint of heart. Feels very much like a Napa Syrah, with a teeth staining color.
Needs a couple hours to open up properly, which I didn't have, as it finished too quickly.
Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly, and calm down a bit. Will be a 95+ wine in 10 years. Will age nicely in the next 15 years.
Wine Spectator 95 points. Robert Parker 96 points.
Good as a sipping wine, and good with food too. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
16% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

2 hour decant (decent chunky/cloudy sediment). A purplish dark magenta color. On the nose: in your face aromas of plum, leather, cedar, currants, floral, mint and smoke. Taste: a smooth, dry, elegant, nicely balanced wine with black fruit, minerals, graphite, black pepper,, and a smokey herb long finish. Give it a few more years to come around, has potential. — 4 years ago

Young and vegetal but strong red and black fruit. All of the wine is in the front and in you face. Should have decanted long or waited 5 years. — 6 years ago
Wednesday Wine Committee hosted by Dan. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. Tasted blind as usual.
Drinking wonderfully. Full fruit at this stage without it being in your face. Plum, blackberry, and currant. Soft and dense in the mid palate. Tart black cherry work herbal notes on the finish. Just beginning to channel secondary notes. I guessed right bank Bordeaux from early 2000s. — 7 years ago
Lookout Tree 2018 is tasting very nice today. Paired with a steak and salad and very pleased with this wine. — 2 months ago

Nose is Smokey but it blows off in 30 minutes. Becomes more mineral. Dark rocks. Palate. Mos def a sucking on a rock thing. Maybe some deep apricots. Very mineral. Good acidic balance but not in your face acidic. Salty. Almost savory Very dense. Rich but rocky rich.
15 was an odd year but I’m glad I’m drinking this.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose and full in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, cooked plums, chocolates, light wood, herbs, earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with grippy tannins and tart cherries.
This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Walla Walla Valley. Rich and in your face kind of wine. Fruit forward and extracted.
This Single Vineyard Bordeaux blend is complex, tangy and interesting. Feels very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.
I had the 2015 vintage not too long ago, and it was drinking beautifully. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years, and showing good potential to become a 94 point wine.
A good sipping wine, that would also pair nicely with food.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged in (57% new) French Oak barrels for 22 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
