This is a balanced, elegant Condrieu. It’s got rich, juice-oozing ripe fruit (only slightly tropical) on the nose, but not in an over-the-top way. There’s also a lightly smoky minerality. After drinking mainly Bordeaux and Rioja over the christmas period this was much lighter. Nose of cherries, raspberries, tar and orange peel. Palate was similar but needed more air to catch up.
