100% Syrah which is what this winery specializes in. Our first Sicilian estate and of course it’s Syrah. Lol. Wild, awesome and super Syrah nose. Violets, lavender, olives, ripe blackberries and even a hint of cassis. Lovely rocky minerality. Some nuttiness as well. Very complex and nose that suggests this has entered maturity. Palate is juicy and elegant. Suave and silky. Loads of berry fruit and a hint of nuttiness. Is this from low sulfur? Delicious and fresh. Not overly complex. As it airs the nose opens more to reveal tree bark, fresh meadow, kalamata olive and more palate becomes more refined and silky as well but the nuttiness takes a way a bit. Like this is 90% stable but 10% freaky. It’s an earlier vintage here since I started with the 18’s so this is more a curiosity that anything. It’s very good but there is a bit of a flaw here. It doesn’t take away much but it doesn’t add anything positive. 9.1 maybe 9.0. Finishes also a bit dirty. — 10 hours ago

2015 vintage. Single vineyard 100 % Sangiovese from south facing hill full of schist stones. Hand picked and sorted. 14 months in French oak tonneaux then 4 months in concrete vats then 6 months in bottle.
Impressive nose of cherry kirsch, new leather and savoury baker’s spice.
Taste wise, layers of ripe strawberry and cherry with a touch of earthiness and stones. Brilliant mouth watering acidity with freshness. I could drink this every week.

Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has dried roses, newly paved highway, dry leather, cut cherries, dried spearmint, dry clay soil, dried cigar and dry granite.
Palate has dried black cherry, mahogany shavings, dry/moist granitic soil, dried blackberry, matchstick cut red pepper, abundant fresh cherries with a long finish, slightly dry, many, many years ahead of this bottle.
Decanted 4+hours, more time needed, at hour four it's really starting to launch! — 25 days ago

Nose has some lovely pleasant earthiness. Spectacular. Gorgeous aromatics. Wtf? I gave this a 9.1 at Vinitaly.
I did see upside but only had 15 minutes to taste. This stuff is THE SHIT.
Blackberry fruit. Good juiciness. Very good deliciousness. Some spice.
Not over the top obnoxiously ripe. Emilia Romagna. North of Tuscany. So less ripe.
