Been exactly a year and a week since I’ve had this and wow is it showing well. Huge nose of mid season cherry, woodsmoke, spices, tar, leather, earth and impressive minerality. Palate is so fresh and just teeming with energy and fruit. Wow. Amazing palate presence. Just demands your attention. Balanced, elegant and wonderful. Lovely hit of opulence in the mid palate leads to an insanely long and complex finish. A wow wine.

Gorgeous nose of woodsmoke, spice, ripe red cherries, chimney, amazing cherry flower, gorgeous purity, such depth and nuance to the nose. Terrific. Mint, herbals. So so so good. Concentrated, so pure, so fresh, gobs of mid season and perfectly defined cherry fruit. Elegant and substantial tannins. Wow, what energy and intensity. What noble structure. So long. Flirting with a 9.5. So balanced. Can go 20 more years. Remarkable.

Gorgeous nose. Chestnut, tar, leather, roses, old books, classic Nebbiolo. Palate has sweet sweet cherry fruit and nice density with terrific high acid and structure. Needs an hour to get going. Really intense 2010 structure but thrilling fruit.

Nose has old tar, countless stems of red roses, dried cherry, library stacks and dried raspberry.

Palate has jammy and bright cherry preserves, fresh tart cherry, old leather, moist earthy notes (positive trait) and some neutral wood.

Mellow tannins after an extended decant, this bottle is really singing. I am lucky to have tasted older vintages to give an understanding of where this wine is going. Now, whether or not I have the patience to hold the remaining bottles another 20-years is a major question, very nice today.

Decanted ~3hrs, in a cool place. Not my kitchen today, which was quite warm as I preserved our first real harvest of 2019 tomatoes, converting them into pizza sauce. I beat our first processed batch from 2018 by an entire week...don't believe anyone telling you we're not living through climate change, or more appropriately 'climate disruption' to quote Ralph Nader. This is why the best Nebbiolo is now coming from northern Italy, and the best Pinot will transition to Germany. OK, enough politics, this is a forum for wine, mostly. Cat photo-bombs appreciated in your bottle pics (sorry none from me today).

Pure as fresh spring water. Pine, cherry liqueur, woodsmoke, earth. Hint of cinnamon spice on the nose. Elegant and sappy; great concentration. Decanted 3 hours. Soulful. @Lyle Fass Alto Piedmonte portfolio 🔥

Wow. Chambolle on the Sesia.

Nose is pristine spice. Perfect cherry. So floral.

As this opens, plush roses. Wow. Really saturating my nose.

Palate has perfect acidic balance. Perfect cherry. Elite Burgundian freshness and fruit delineation.

Long insane fresh finish.

$100+ in barolo. If you can get a wine this elegant.

Bought from fass selections.

Nose is gorgeous cherry, cherry flowers and some pine. Don’t confuse the pine with tca. It’s not. Really gorgeous unique nose. Palate is cherry juice a hint of cherry liquor and pine. Terrific brightness. This is still a baby. Needs 2 hours to get going. Has great structure. Will go for decades. Bought from Fass Selections. .. four hours in God’s roses in the nose. Exquisite. Almost sweet roses. Palate is insane.
