2005 vintage. From magnum. Tasted after 3 hours open. Light-medium body. Drought earth. Coffee grounds. Espresso crema. Dark plum skins. Drinking excellent but like a Napa cab a decade older. And from a magnum!?!? Was expecting a bit more of a delicate fruit presence. Oh well. It was a full moon. 04.11.25. — 15 days ago
Notes of leather and dark fruits on the nose, very smooth on the palette. A lovely cab I can drink all day long. — 6 days ago
Not normally a fan of California Merlot, but this one surprised me. Very drinkable, but with enough complexity. Excellent with a bowl of seafood stew. — a month ago
En Mag. Candy wrapper nose and gentle tannin silky mouthfeel. No heat. Yum. — a month ago
Cork giving out but why not after 19 years! Wine is escaping to fresh beauty with a little wet dog age that I like.
Holding her space in 2025
80% Zin, 16% Petite Syrah, 4% Carignane
14.7% is reigning it in on this varietal and well done! Doesn’t feel fire breathing at all 👏 — 4 days ago
Amazing older Napa Cabernet, redfruits (currants and cassis), this is amazingly fresh and youthful, structure is there, just a faint green note pops out in the super long finish, great wine (and clearly showing much more youthful than the 1986 Dunn Napa we opened in mid-March)!! Randy killed it in this vintage, planning to open a 1987 Howell Mountain Cabernet in the next few weeks, it should be fantastic!! — 21 days ago

Alcohol is spiked on this one. Don’t know if it’s timing, storage, or flight. After 45 mins this calmed down and increased from 90 to 92. Got better over time. Decant at this stage I guess — 10 days ago
