I'm a fan of the early to mid 90's Caymus SS and this is no exception but the fruit is waning. Drink up.

Mature nose and palette. Understandably showing its years. Still has a good fruit profile. Fruits have faded, leaving leather and spices. Black tea notes also present. Tannins and acidity still solid. Drink em up.

I have had a number of this vintage during the years and it always shows well. SS from 1976 to 1995 are great wines Later still good but too much on the ripe side for me.

Inspired by @Eric 94 Dalla Valle tonight.

Decanted for sediment (some fine/cloudy sediment). A sensational tawny ruby red color. On the nose: Very aromatic nose of black cherry, currants, barnyard, earth, leather, and smoked meat. Taste: Damn, must have added some water from the fountain of youth. A smooth, still bright, juicy medium body wine with black currants, leather, hint of red berries, musky earth, and a minty espresso medium finish. Nice classic aged Cali cab!

This was a very good bottle. Perfectly matured red! not past its prime. Fullbodied and still some fruit left. Woow!

Beautiful example of an older Cali Cab. Fully mature & holding up well. Very elegant, floral with good spice.
