Reva Alban Estate Vineyard Syrah

My first Reva and honestly I expected more. I like the “restraint” of the vintage but just left me wondering what all the fuss is about

Obviously not as big and bold as other vintages but solid winemaking so count me as a fan still.
The word "restrained" rarely applies to Alban but this vintage may come close...

Yeah because 2011 was such a bad vintage.

Seriously not as good as earlier vintages- not sure what is happening here.

Dead ringer for magical cote rotie. But with such a subtle twist......
