Ethereal (circa 1510): of the highest regions of the atmosphere; (from 1590s) an extended sense of light or air. In a boxing match, this featherweight Veyder-Malberg will light you up. In the mountains, it’s the stone you sick and the air you breathe at the solitude of 11,000 feet. — 4 years ago
Carpenter coming correct!! This is wound up like a starstruck boy around the finger of his celebrity crush. You get hints of all the lovely Pinotness, but it actually needs some decanting (of the second day) to really truly explode. Classic Cali PN, but with a clean mineral depth that speaks of other influences. — 5 years ago
Tasted blind. Guessed Happy Canyon Cab. Actually quite elegant wine. Alcohol at 14.8 which is low for Paso lolz. Just a pleasing freshness and vibrancy without any oak butting in the convo like a know it all with nothing to say. The wine opens with fantastic energy. — 4 years ago
Rock star. Decanted two hours and still a beast. Bordeaux-dust nose finally giving way to fruit and dead leaf. Muscular still. Impeccably structured, like a coliseum that’s a thousand years old. — 4 years ago
Young and brash. A big dude with a soft heart. Give it some time. Find it in 2028. — 4 years ago

Oh man. Oh man oh man oh man. A flash of eternal silver in the pan. Finish for a minute, stones to mushrooms. Cheesy, golden nectar nose, a sweet high spicy note among the caramel flowers. Meursault with 20+ years on it is yesyesyesyesyes — 4 years ago
As a rabid fanatic Cote Rotie man, of course I enjoy this, hits all the notes one would expect, it’s just not a virtuoso. — 4 years ago
Beautiful Biodynamic estate with a hidden cellar straight out of a James Bond flick. From their selection of young vines. And ahhhhhhhhhbbb the stony floral Sauv Blanc gives the wine lift and air, the wings, while the secret engine of Semillon provides a deep counterbalance, a waxy rudder guiding the whole contraption smoothly thru the air. Day two: even more aerodynamically pure. Drink then. — 5 years ago

Here’s a secret: Pinot Grigio from Oregon is absolutely killer. The more so with this Ramato, an Italian speciality. Color is amber pink gemstone. Unreal. Caramelized nose. Sweet earthy hints. Super vivacious acid. Tingly finish. I could drink this every day. — 4 years ago
