Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course two hours. The 2023 Morgon (S) pours a brilliant ruby/purple color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart red fruits: strawberry, raspberry, cherry, a touch of bubblegum, red flowers, licorice, black pepper, a mix of cool spices and rocky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a more dense expression of Lapierre’s Morgon which isn’t a surprise considering the vintage. Quite lovely with chicken pâté. Drink now through 2037. — 4 months ago

Medium ruby garnet quite narrow terracotta rim . Quite herbal , dried strawberry and red cherry nose , touch of iodine , sous bois , dried mushroom notes , discreet roasted coffee note after a while. Quite pretty red fruits on the palate with good freshness , strawberry , earthy cherry and a marine , iodine like note , sous bois underneath . Quite elegant and well balanced acidity with fine tannic grip . Good red fruit , earthy tinged finish . This is showing more advanced than the 2001 Reserva , and would like to try another bottle of this , as I suspect this half is a bit below par. On the basis of this bottle drink now and over the next 5 or so years . — 10 days ago

These E&M wines are just stupido! What do i mean by this? Popped opened. Joined 2 bottles into one because i was not convinced/unhappy. Got close to the sink. Then decided leave in the fridge for 2 weeks. And Voilà now quite awesome. Strawberries, tart, rhubarb, ….bark, more red than Rosé. Dark, complex, orange zest, dark cherry. Would age this 2-3 years. Revisit and then decide on even more cellar time. — 5 months ago

The rose which I judge all other roses every year. It’s never disappointed and usually tastes better than I remember. 2024 is the same. A lot of acidity, lemons, strawberry cream, more berries, a touch of melon, saline, shells. This could go with any food. Love it. — 2 months ago
