Spectacular and deep nose. Dark cherry fruit that is reminiscent of Girard. Pungent and also some cherry flower. But also brambly. Really beautiful aromas here. Some red apple as well. So unique. And an undercurrent of earth. Wow is this a knockout aromatically. Just a 9.5 nose that is so vivid. Very impressive. WOW. What a palate. Insanely perfect balance and just gorgeous purity and a Burgundian earthy sweetness. Long, linear and very delineated. As this opens the nose becomes so floral and the fruit even more deep and concentrated. Terrific inner mouth aromas and superb balance. Really so flavorful but also so restrained and exacting. Good grip and structure and lovely ripe tannins and amazing structure. Seems like it will age for a decade at least. This is the most Burgundian Swiss pinot i’ve ever had. Really glides across the palate. Such a lovely contrast between the silky attack, the mid palate structure and the sweet, silky finish. Wonderful wine. I had an old colleague that always use to say wines were charming and I never really knew what he was talking about but this wine he surely would of said ischarming. It’s so complete for what it’s trying to do. After 3 hours of air it’s completely a sphere. An orb of swiss in elite savigny 1er cru clothes. Right at the edge of a 9.5. The sap and extract on the finish stain the palate. Really a great wine. — 2 years ago
I adore the classic style of 2021 and they are so approachable. What a gorgeous wine. Look at that color. The nose is ethereal cherries and spice. So perfectly ripe but mid season, cool climate cherries. Sea air and forest floor but all so delicate and elegant. Unreal. 9.7 nose. Palate is so forward, round and juicy. Has that middleweight perfection of 21 and that clear, luscious red fruits. Like a sphere on the palate. Awesome. Lovely sour and mid season cherry. So wispy and nimble. Almost like a German Swiss Pinot but very Burgundy. — 10 months ago
Oh wow that nose! Tar, oak, vanilla, blackberry, cherry... That's an intense nose. The palate is well designed with a great acid drive, some extreme width, some thick matter on the sides, you could chew through it... The mid palate is made of massive sphere of fun with gentle, caressing tannins, before a great finish with oaky notes, that tannic layer and these blackberry and cherry notes that last for ever. Great stuff! — a year ago
Tough to find this on Delectable. Hopefully this is the right slot. If not, I'm establishing the wine here.
First, I have a case. So, I will be commenting more later. The deep red color, viscosity apparent in the glass, and the beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers and red fruits, all conspire to create an expectation that is exceeded on the palate. Floral strawberry, hints of vanilla, and soil. Medium plus bodied, medium plus alcohol, medium acidity, soft ripe tannins. Not a single edge or corner-- a perfect sphere in the mouth. It subsides slowly, and you are left to believe you were in Bordeaux. — 3 years ago
Nose is psychotic. This controlled richness. Almost round in a perfect sphere way. Almost a hint of sherry without the oxidative notes. Hard to describe. It’s own category.
Nose is more l33t after 45 minutes. You get this high end burgundy complexity compete / complex / craziness.
Palate is elegantly delicious. Nice minerality. Juicy. Delicious. Elegant.
More meursaulty than the 18 which was better / more interesting. Still quite amazing.
As this opens it gets more “high class”. Decant for 30 and drink over 30.
Long finish.

Nice nose of plums, blackberry, black pepper and a bit of oak. The palate is very well made, rather round and joyful, with bright red fruit notes, some acid drive, a sphere of a mid palate before a fresh finish with black pepper, blackberry that lasts for a long while. Good stuff! — a year ago
The nose shows tar, cedar, oak, vanilla, coffee, black currant, raspberries, blackberries... This is very complex and it keeps expanding and evolving with air. Magic!
The palate is superb too, there is a massive acid backbone that powers a majestic palate that shows black currant and mocha notes. Great width, superb, silky mouthfeel with a bit of a thick, suple layer, then the palate expands into what could be described as a sphere and tannins kick in leaving a dusty layer that tends to dry up the mouthfeel. The finish is extremely long with black currant and mocha notes and that drying layer. This is a great wine tasting experience. 10 years and kicking! It could hold for another 10 without any problem I reckon. — 3 years ago
Des Racines et des Rêves, côtes du Roussillon 2019 red blend
There is licorice, red forest fruits, some black pepper and a touch of chocolate and and iron tiny touch.
The palate is very well made and quite complex, there is a huge acid drive, a nice width, some black pepper notes, a tiny red forest fruits note all along, a massive mid palate in form of a sphere and some tannins creating a layer of dust, leaving a drying feeling on the back of the tongue. The finish is peppery, a bit fruity, and showing that vivid mouthfeel with thay dusty layer. A bit of warmth comes in the end. This is my oncle's second wine (from le Vieux Solitaire's vineyard in Maury) — 3 years ago

The Weissburgunder now. Nose is so Weiss. Creamy, citrus, spices, apple, apple skins, white peach and some nice earthy leaves. Tree bark as well. Palate is richer and creamier than the Skins but has that 21 acidity and stoicism. Textured, juicy and very very long with great sap and awesome citrus and stone fruits that echo for ages on the finish. Nose has some slight honeyed notes and beeswax. Wow this is intense and has so much energy. Clean like the Skins and more like a normal wine but also has 30% natural character and wow that finish is amazing. The nose has hints of classic white burg aromas like wet dog and wet earth as it airs. And that spice really kicks it up a notch after air. With air this is now scary elegant and like the name suggests it’s very sphere like. Wow. — 7 months ago
