Great base-level CdR from the negociant side of Chave. Floral and high toned fruit on the nose, red fruit and a bit of pepper on the finish. Some good typical spice. Decent finish. Slightly high alcohol. Probably has some upside with aging. — 6 days ago
Medium-bodied but somehow rich, the 2015 cuvée from Le Vieux Donjon is loaded with sappy red fruit balanced by garrigue, anise, and florals. Easy drinking but not simple, it pleased a wide range of palates at our Christmas dinner. Still seems to have the legs to go a few more years. — 12 days ago
Wine 6 of my birthday blind tasting. A good old guigal to finish it up 😊 always a success. I called côtes du Rhône ✌️
The nose was a bit muted at first but then these unmistakable garrigue and black olive notes kicked in. There is blackberry and cherry notes too. The palate shows a good acid drive, some savoury notes along with blackberry, some width, a good tannic wall in the rear that leaves a drying layer over a long rather savoury and salty finish with black olives and blackberry notes. It's as always, a great option. I will have another glass with lunch, roasted duck and veggies will get along quite well with it. — 16 days ago
2013 vintage drink late 2024. Fairly intense, medium tannins, and enough fruit. Lacked a bit of the savory, black olive characteristic that I love so much in CDP, but no real complaints here. — 6 days ago
Goede geur, prikkelt een beetje, frisse en luchtige wijn, goede nasmaak die wat blijft hangen — 12 days ago
Smooth Rhône red blend, served cool with tuna, New Year’s Eve at Café Solé, Key West, FL — 5 days ago
Medium ruby. Pronounced aromas of black and red cherry, black plum, blackberry, raspberry, vanilla spice, earth, leather, and smoke. Juicy dark fruits on the palate, accompanied by mint and licorice. Dry and full-bodied, with velvety tannins, medium acidity, and a soft, balanced texture. Despite its high alcohol, the wine feels harmonious and refined. The finish is long and elegant. A polished and sophisticated expression of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, emphasizing nuance and finesse. Best with 30 minutes of decanting. Ready to drink now but will only improve with age.

golden yellow , copper tinge . Quite open exuberant nose , orange rind , honeysuckle, saffron , ginger , marmalade . Intense marmalade , orange peel on the palate , quite rich and intense but well balanced by high acidity. Long balanced , zesty intense finish . Drinking well now and over the next 5-8 years . — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. No formal notes due to the setting. The 2018 is a fairly classic expression of Beaucastel with a mixed bramble fruit set, underbrush, herbs and spices in lovely balance. Good structure. While still on the youthful side, the 2018 is already showing well and was an awesome accompaniment with a wagyu burger. Drink now through 2038. — 6 hours ago
