I met @Aaron Hamrock on Wednesday and the first wines he shared were a ‘86 Mouton (my Red Wine of the trip), a ‘90 Beausajor a ‘07 Larkmead Lark and this, the holy grail of Spanish wines. Pretty solid intro. This was rich and round but still not fully strutting in my opinion. If the dinner was 2 hours longer and it hadn’t been completely drained it would have been interesting to see where this went. I say hold if you have one, which you probably don’t. — 6 days ago
2016- lush and jammy hut with leather and spice. Good tannins and notes if anise and nutmeg, and a little woody. Really wonderful with mushrooms and grilled meats. Would prefer to give it another few years, but delectable right now. — 4 days ago
A nicely aged Spanish Red from Ribera Del Duero.
Showing black and red fruits with earth notes, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates and peppercorn.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 23 Year old is drinking very nicely now with a nice mouthfeel and good structure.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the tannins.
Nicely balanced with nice complexity. A great sipping wine.
I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.
13% alcohol by volume.

Hard to beat for $27. Black fruit aromas. BlackBerry, plum, and charcoal. Needs a decant and more aging since tannins are still prominent. But very good right now. — 2 days ago
90.5 Great refreshing acid, low to mod tannin, silky texture. Ripe cranberry, raspberry jam, strawberry, a bit of savory spice, touch of pepper. Kinda smells and tastes like Northern Rhone syrah's younger less developed but more peppy and high energy brother. — 12 days ago
