Purple Hen

Dominio IV

The Purple Flower Syrah 2011

Dark, smooth, full bodied with a bit of acidity. Black cherries, cocoa, and pepper. Paired well with a rich, meaty Shepherds pie. — 12 days ago

Sonoma County Petite Sirah 2017

Basic appellation offering, Concentrated, Deep Purple Fruit with stained teeth & glass! Also, no 2017 smoke taint. Kudos Mike Officer. Cheers 🍇🍷 — 2 days ago

Porto Vintage Port Blend 2007

Jan A
9.3

Pitch black with a purple rim, completely shut down nose. After a few hours of aeration this was still a bit nervous. Bright acids, dark purple fruit and a touch of vanilla and black pepper. I like my VP on the younger side of the drinking window when the fruit is still powerful but already rounded out. My next bottle will be in 4-6 years. Opened too young in the muted/shut down phase. 93++ — a day ago

Purple Hands

Holstein Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Hefty Oregon Pinot from Dundee. Rich and tart. Absolutely needs 3-5 years to come together and begin resolving its tannins. This is my first Purple Hands...one to watch! — 11 days ago

Golden Cluster

Purple Drank Zinfandel Blend

The kind of vitality Golden Cluster excels at. This is a plush, unsubtle wine. Giant tuttifrutti flavors, but also giant acidity to balance them, like a jolly rancher grew to enormous size and exploded into soft liquid. — 9 days ago

Alpha Omega

Napa Valley Petit Verdot 2018

Dark purple. Pine and peppercorns on nose. Bold, very dry, loaded with tannins and black fruits. Excellent! — 6 days ago

Montes

Purple Angel Colchagua Valley Carménère Petit Verdot 2017

A great wine from Chile, a blend of 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot, grapes from Colchagua. Deep Ruby with aromas ripe red and black fruits with floral, herb and minty notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of cacao and cinnamon spice with touches of black pepper. Long silky finish, fine tight tannins and ending with smoky oak notes. Very nice! — 3 days ago

Bedrock Wine Co.

Old Vine Sonoma Valley Zinfandel 2013

Home made pizza and Bedrock OV Zin? No brainer...14.5 but no noticeable heat after 7 years. Chewy, black-fruit and nice balance. This Zin rocks for less than $25 and works amazingly well with hen-of-the-wood mushrooms and thin sliced pepperoni. — 8 days ago
