MK09, the first release of this fabulous Cuvée, aged 6 years on natural cork and disgorged in 2015, is totally in the zone right now. So great to have snagged off the Cut DC wine list to start the night. Ripeness, freshness, oxidative complexity, a complete Champagne. It flaunts intense aromas of toasted hazelnut, apple pie and baking spice with a creamy and rounded palate that is both pure and chiseled and layered with minerality. A fantastic Champagne. — 2 days ago
Hard to beat PYCM with the menu at Jônt. I love the Charmes site and 2014 is wide open, with just a touch of flinty reduction, but it’s all about its purity of yellow fruit that’s complimented by ripping citrusy acids, hazelnut and a hint of vanilla cream. Its supremely concentrated and dense palate shows great structure, power and a balanced stony minerality. This is still a baby but already evolving wonderfully. Great bottle. — 2 days ago
Just a phenomenal nose. Wow. Perfect, and so deep. 4D cherries. Black, red, perfect cherries. So deep. Endless cherries. High toned and dark at the same time. Totally amazing. Wow. This is genius. Haunting earth and stoniness. This nose is a 10.0. Just insane. Totally mindblowing. The detail and depth is unreal. Best nose of the 2020 Brissets. The nose smells like GC Vosne-Romanee. Such a special site. Juicy and so dense but bright as well. So sweet and fresh. This just has a tiny berry juicy explosiveness. Sappy and pure and such lift. Finishes so mineral. Wow that opulence in the midpalate leads to unreal juicy fruit on the finish that is so bright, energetic and lifted. Stunning length. The detailed black and red cherry fruit that is blended with the perfect level of opulence. Longest of all the 2020 Brisset reds. Wow. A profound wine of total genius. I am floored. The tannins are so fine, so well knit. so velvet. This will be a 10.0 with age. — 9 days ago
Aromes de citron confit et fruits blancs, bouche qui se donne beaucoup, minérale, concentrée et tout de même fraîche, agec une longueur surprenante, très bien. 90-91

This wine I had the other night is the 2019 Pierre Sparr Grande Réserve Riesling. From Alsace - Beblenheim, France.
On the nose there is citrus, lemon, bicycle tire, pear, green apple, vanilla and minerality.
On the palate there is lemon, lime, peach, green apple, golden delicious apple and good minerality.
This wine is light to medium body smooth and creamy mouthfeel with medium + to high mouthwatering acidity that leads right to a long citrus apple mineral finish. Please have a healthy and safe holiday weekend. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 19 hours ago
A very interesting inadvertent experiment. I left this in a styrofoam case in my garage. It was there for almost 3 months. The garage hits 90 during the day.
Any rate the wine tastes like the wine.
Go styrofoam !!!!!
Nose is ocean breeze. Lemon flower.
Palate is mineral. Hint of gods lemon soda.

As usual this is a preposterous wine and a preposterous value and the best of its kind. The fruit has a lipstick like intensity that boggles the mind. Black cherry, dark red cherries, dusty earth, pulverized rocks and so much more. There is a tiny berry fruit intensity that is a trademark of this wine. Smells like elite village burg. Palate is Uber concentrated with dazzling purity and freshness for days. Black cherry, dark red cherries and so much sapidity. Elegant, complex and so deep. Amazing black raspberry as well. This just keeps pushing on the finish. As this airs the limestone intensity just keeps getting more and more defined on the nose. Superb cut and delineation, with such unreal concentration. Never heavy always elegant and a finish you will not believe for this level. It’s superb in its compactness. Some wood shavings character now on the nose after air. From high school woodshop. Gorgeous fruit. This is just dazzling. A skoche behind the 19 but still the best of its class. Let’s see what air does. — 22 days ago

Medium gold, explosive aromas of ripe pineapple , lychee, kumquat and green melon. The wine is rich, nearly viscus, and packing serious weight. Long, sweet but balanced, mid-palate. Close to over-the-top in richness, but the flavors carry the day. A long way from Sancerre, but a style and food-friendliness that I have to acknowledge. At times I wasn’t sure, but finished the bottle….. and smiled! — 8 days ago
