Bordeaux Blend- Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Cabernet Franc 15%, Merlot 15% 2018 was wet season and this impacted the normally bold style.
It is still full bodied - deep ruby red colour - but t’s a more lighter, elegant classic style, with blackcurmat red berry and cassis. So what is lost in power is replaced by a more refined and elegant wine.

Drinking the 2003 in 2025. Light ruby color. Rich bouquet, with lots of toasted oak, deep dark ripe fruit and an earthy finish. High alcohol!! Very smooth flavors, wonderful wine !! — a month ago
One of the better champagnes I’ve had in a while and I don’t usually like champagnes. — 4 days ago
This was rich and delicious especially with a tasty steak kabob. — 13 days ago
The only Champagne in their flight. First time having this producer.
It has gentle, micro bubbles. Soft mousse. Again, a touch sweet. At least for me. Seems more than 9g. It is interesting to me that with all of France’s rather strict wines laws, I have seen extra brut over 6g & brut over 9g.
Full cherries to kirsch quality, strawberries, pomegranate and raspberries. Gentle dry herbal notes, moist, crumbled chalk & limestone, yeast notes, some white spice, sea fossil/spray, crumbled grey volcanics, pink & red roses, pleasant round acidity, nicely polished finish that is more fruit than earth as it sets and lasts 45 seconds to a minute. — a month ago
Forgot to take detailed notes, but this was nice. Not really any carbonic / natural / “new agey”notes, just a solid classically made gamay. Definitely has some structure, opened 4 hours before serving which was good. Didn’t sing on any one dimension of fruit / earth / acid / length / texture but was nice overall. — 5 days ago
100 per cent Syrah. A very nice Crozes Hermitage that will provide a day to day solution for those of you who like Hermitage wines. May 2025. — 12 days ago
I was going through my La Chapelle section today and my eyes got stuck on this 1999 - bottle looked absolutely pristine and I decided it was a perfect age to drink. Cork was in great condition and the wine was powerful and youthful with no signs of oxidation. Could have kept the bottle for a few more years, but it was probably perfect today. All the complex leathery earthy goodness you expect from this wine was there. — 2 months ago

1hr+ decant. Very similar to the ‘14 Pride I had the night before. Not as bright and less fruit as this was more rustic and floral. This has a lot of life left in it. Finish was shorter than expected. — 6 days ago
