Nose has notes of lemongrass, fennel and lemon rind, and like, moth balls, or something that reminds one of grandma’s house potpourri. Lots of eucalyptus at opening. 15 mins in it begins to settle in. Leather, mushroom on the nose with the ever present eucalyptus. Really well structure fruit on the palette, a tinge of acidity and a bit sharp on the finish. More time in the glass brings a balance that’s amazing for a 39 year old wine. Thankfully no one here to share!

Blend of Merlot (62%) Cabernet Sauvignon (33%), Petite Verdot (3%) and Cabernet Franc (3%). Medium garnet color. Aromas of blueberry, mint, chocolate and orange zest. Palette features blueberry and black raspberry and hints of plum, vanilla, cedar and dark chocolate. Hint of chalk on the bright and velvety finish. Quite linear and lean. This bottle reminds me more of my first bottle. Ready to drink, pretty much pnp. Medium ruby colored. Not much on the nose. But nice black and blue fruit upfront, silky tannins, nice soft mouthfeel, mid palate of milk chocolate, light caramel, red licorice, lead pencil shavings. Really enjoyable. — 3 years ago
