A classic Napa Cab, solid all around. Wonderful mouth feel with a nice balance of fruit and earth flavors. The finish on this wine is wonderful, the tannins are soft and lingering. While nothing about this wine is a show stopper, it is very satisfying on all fronts and was a wonderful compliment to a roasted chicken with lemon, onion and rosemary.

Still a touch sweet and oaky but not the same candy flavor as when it was released. Good stuff from Caymus.

Okay, my natural bias on this wine is that it is generally over rated and over priced. Having said that, this vintage is very good. Reviews should be agnostic to price so I will do my best. This has an over abundance of black fruits jumping out of the glass. But it has enough acid to balance the fruit on the front and mid palette. The finish is shorter than you would like but overall balance between fruit, acid and tannins is very good. The bottom line is, if you asked me if I wanted you to open a ‘12 Caymus, I would say hell yes. Cheers!

Dark purple, magenta, rich sugar blueberry, blackberry smell, syrupy, bit too sweet I think, I wish the fruit came out more! It’s definitely a lot.

Seems like it is going into its dumb phase.
