Big and bold. Tight on opening; needs about an hour of decanting. Black fruits and oaky on the palate. Velvety tannins.

I was given this 2016 Petit Sirah as a gift. I’ll be buying it in the future. Elegant bouquet with a lingering lovely finish.

Tannins heavy on first taste..mouth puckering! Dry, deep violet red. Young red, needs a few years. Inviting, with hints of barbecue-maybe a spicy grape jam, which leads me to believe that it will be great if aged. Taste is not astounding. Underwhelming, really. Balanced... borderline boring.

Medium body, slight acidity, plum and smoky, with a slightly fruity (but not sweet) finish. Great on its own or with sharp cheese.

The finish was too short but overall, this was a delicious wine: dark fruit, black licorice and gentle tannins. Will be getting this again.
